As winter transitions to spring, dozens of outdoor activities come into season. There are plenty of hiking, mountain biking and 4-wheeling trails in the surrounding National Forest, whitewater rafting and water parks in Buena Vista and excellent fishing in the Platte, Arkansas and Tarryall rivers nearby. Or easily catch stocked trout in the HOA pond.
Give your group chef the night off and venture just 3.5 miles to downtown Fairplay, where you'll find an array of eateries, cafes, and pubs. Otto's Restaurant, South Park Brewing, and Millonzi's are a few of the favorites among the locals.

Summary: While the Fairply Log Home offers ample space for larger groups, it unfortunately falls short in several critical areas. We encountered a number of significant issues during our stay that impacted our overall experience.First and foremost, the home was not prepared for guests upon our arrival. Essential items like light bulbs, batteries, and tissues were missing or in need of replacement, which should have been checked beforehand. In addition, the kitchen was poorly stocked — we found dirty dishes, glassware, utensils, and bakeware in the cupboards, which was a huge letdown.Another major concern was the dangerous ice buildup outside the back door. Not only did this make it nearly impossible to access the deck, but it also posed a serious safety hazard. The condition of the property’s outdoor areas in winter needs significant attention.The home lacked sufficient linens and towels at the start of our stay, requiring us to request extras. The dining room seating is also very limited, with only eight seats available and an additional three folding chairs, which felt inadequate for our group. The outdoor table, which could have been a nice feature, was frozen into the deck, making it unusable during our winter stay, even on warmer days.On a positive note, the fireplace was a highlight — the fire starter provided made it easy to enjoy a cozy evening, and the couches were comfortable for relaxing indoors.Ultimately, the home needs a major deep cleaning and restocking to meet basic expectations. While it has potential with its spacious layout, I would not recommend this property until the maintenance and safety issues are addressed and the property is properly prepared for guests.

Summary: This home was spacious enough to accommodate my family and friends. The home was beautiful and location felt very secluded in a beautiful mountain neighborhood just minutes from FairPlay . I would definitely stay here again!

Summary: We found everything as advertised. The property manager was quick to respond. There was an ample supply of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap. The showers even had shampoo and body wash, which was a nice surprise. We loved the town of FairPlay. We saw moose, elk, and deer on the property during our stay.

Summary: The cabin was in great condition and the owner was accommodating to my group. We loved the open living area and the big deck and yard. It was so quiet and such a great location to get away from the busyness of life. The beds were also very comfortable and all the appliances worked well! I would definitely recommend this place for large family vacations. It's great for building relationships with it's open design and feels like you're always together.

Summary: This property was quite enjoyable. The beds and linens were comfortable, kitchen well stocked and overall floor plan easy to mingle or break off for privacy if needed. Although the downstairs can be noisy, you hear every foot step above you. Feedback that I also shared with the property manager: The outdoor boiler was packed full of trash but instructions say not to put trash there. Not sure how or why that's happening. Only realized that because the door to boiler was open when we arrived (with trash nearly falling out). The front door needs adjusting, it's difficult to open and shut. Hallway bathroom water pressure in sink was just a trickle of water. Had just enough TP, no more rolls in the house. There should have been more for a house that sleeps 12-15. To the owners - thank you kindly for choosing to share your beautiful log home with guests. It made for an extra special birthday celebration!

Summary: Only one person can shower at a time even though there were 3 showers. Rat feces in a closet Not enough trash bags and toilet paper had to purchase after 2nd day staying in cabin. Bathroom locks were not working. Some wood in balcony was rotting so we couldn't enjoy that part of the cabin.

Summary: The property has the most beautiful views we have ever seen! We had a lovely family weekend! Magical walks, a fun time in the quaint city of Fairplay, and much laughter as we all played cards in the spacious cabin made the weekend one we will not forget!
