Villa De Tour is a spacious house with a large swimming pool, set in a private location with panoramic mountain views. The house is located on the outside of the village of Serdinya in the foothills of the Pyrenees. The villa is the ideal location / base for lovers of the sun, walking, hiking, skiing (in the winter months) and history - the surrounding area abounds in historic monastries and priories and is steeped in Cathar and Catalan history. The area has numerous footpaths and hiking trails some of which start from the villa.
The Villa has three large bedrooms, two with french windows onto the sun terrace and a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The spacious lounge / dining room has a vaulted ceiling and opens onto a sun terrace ideal for sunbathing and outdoor entertainment - a wonderful place for eating al fresco. Here you can also relax and admire the mountain views.
The "Petit Train Jaune" (the little yellow train) is a very popular tourist attraction that takes passengers up the valley and can be seen and heard, with its friendly "toot toot whistle" from the grounds of the villa.
Villa De Tour is ideal for large families or groups of friends who wish to explore the region and its many attractions. Serdinya is a quiet village with a beautiful church and small village shop and cafe which has a wonderful sun terrace with stunning views of the Canigou Mountain, a perfect place to enjoy lunch.

Summary: Great location and a nice traditional comfortable villa with lots of space for all of us and really well stocked. The outside of the villa looks a little in need of repair in places but very chic and in keeping with the area. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the pool due to water restrictions but it looked great - also had a few issues with power cuts but they were resolved really quickly by the caretaker and hosts. There was also lots of information left by the owners about the village and surrounds which was really helpful. We loved the area - perfect for the Yellow Train, walking and exploring the area. Villefranche and Eus are both a must see and very nearby.

Summary: The Villa was exactly as described; spacious for a family of 4, in an amazing location in the mountains and with a lovely swimming pool. The villa was clean and tidy and with all we needed for a family of four . It was a great base from which to explore the local area and some absolutely amazing villages in the mountains with some of the most picturesque landscapes we have seen. Our host Liz responded to every enquiry we made and in particular when there was a small issue with a light in the pool area she arranged to have it resolved within a few hours, what more can you ask. I would highly recommend the Villa to anybody wanting to explore this area of the Pyrenees mountains and the south west French coast

Summary: Just spent 10 very relaxing days at this lovely home in the Pyrenees. Everything was as advertised with a spectacular setting and a very spacious house. The property manager was very pleasant and professional. Highly recommended.

Summary: The villa is exceptional, very large, attractive terraced grounds, with a good sized pool. It's also very well appointed, with just about everything you might need whilst away, and more besides. Just 10 mins from the walled town of Villefranche-de- Conflent, with many beautiful walks and activities nearby, and Font Romeau about 45 mins away via a spectacular drive that's worth doing for the views. The little yellow train passes below the property which is another must do for visitors. Oh, and terrific night skies too, with no light pollution.

Summary: We have previously stayed at this delightful property and could not resist returning there recently for the third time! We just cannot get enough of the peace and serenity that surrounds the property and if you want somewhere to really recharge your batteries then we can definitely recommend staying here. The villa is situated in a very quiet location in the mountains and we delight in sitting on the large patio in the mornings enjoying our breakfast amidst wonderful scenery. The villa is equipped with everything you could need for your holiday with plenty of crockery and cooking utensils and a barbeque with a good supply of charcoal. The pool is always a favourite with our family and it is a really good size as well as having a shallow end for those who just prefer to sit and cool off (great for younger children too). The loungers are plentiful and (more importantly) comfortable enough to nod off in!! The concierge, Laurent is a lovely, helpful man and on hand to help with any problems. We had to call him twice while we were there and he came straight away and resolved our issues very efficiently and quickly. We spent many lazy days by the pool but did manage to drag ourselves away for some lovely days out. Notably, Villefranche De Conflent is a mere 10/15 minutes drive away and great for wandering round doing some souvenir shopping as well as taking in some history and a meal. We drove up to Les Angles and enjoyed some breath-taking scenery en route. Once there we took the cable car part way up the mountain, had a wander then enjoyed a drink in the mountain chalet. The town is pleasant and there are numerous shops for your perusal. The highlight of our trip however was our whale watching trip, booked through Navivoile.com. We had previously been on a dolphin watching trip but really wanted to do the whale watching so we booked it online before our holiday and then prayed that the weather would be good enough to go out in a boat. Luckily all was well and although they don't guarantee that you will see a whale we hit the jackpot and spotted a sperm whale as well as some dolphins! How amazing that was! It was a long day (0900-1900) but well worth the money. There is no shortage of things to do in the surrounding area and we already have a list for next time! Thank you Liz and John for allowing us to share your beautiful villa and thank you for the very welcome gift left for our arrival. We will return!

Summary: We (2 adults, 3 children 15,13 and 9) spent a lovely week in Liz's beautiful home in the Pyrenees. The house truly had everything required and the pool is of a good size. The national road is handy enough for easy access but sufficiently far aware to be inaudible. We enjoyed canyoning and walks in the hills and had a lovely day with massage at the spa at fontpedrouse. Villefranche 10 minutes away by car a beautiful historic walled town and boarding station for the "yellow train". All in all a lovely week - we'd love to return.

Summary: The villa was in an amazing location half way up the side of a valley with mountain views all round. Villa spotless and very well equipped. As previous reviewers have said the photos don't do the property justice as it was much more spacious than expected and lovely big living room with dining table (although ate outside every day/evening) and 2 bedrooms (red and blue!) were huge and the purple bedroom perfectly adequate for 2 twins. Kitchen had everything needed for cooking and plenty of plates/cups/glasses for a big party as well as utilised the picnic box, plastic cutlery plates and ice blocks - thank you! Pool was perfect size for 2 boys - aged 4 and 6 with safe steps in and big enough for jumping in and quick laps. Plenty of outside furniture available. Liz Jenkins, the owner, provided lots of information prior to the stay on the area and plenty of info in the villa when you arrive - always answered promptly if had queries or needed anything whilst we were away. Laurent - the infamous pool man - was lovely and always nearby if needed anything. Had fun chatting in our best franglais! Lovely stroll through the sleepy, quiet village to the cafe to get baguettes and chocolate croissants every morning. Not a lot of activity there and very basic looking inside (think had only just reopened) but always at least one local having their morning coffee!. Sitting on the balcony more amazing views all round. Daily activity was pool in morning, drive up a mountain over hotter mid-day lunchtime, then back to the pool for more swimming after 3. Favourite drive was to Mantet - idyllic, mountain village with expansive views and pastures at the top of the mountain - beautiful drive from valley bottom to the top. Only small point could perhaps be improved slightly was the exterior of the house could perhaps do with a lick of paint and a bit of a freshen up but had no impact on the holiday or on our enjoyment but if giving an honest review this was the only thing we remarked on. Summary: We recently spent two weeks in this beautiful villa and had an amazing time. The booking was straightforward and the owner friendly and efficient. We had previously stayed here so knew what to expect but it has undergone some improvements and is all the better for it. When we arrived, the villa was spotless and was equipped with everything you could possibly need for a holiday stay so no need to take any little extras that we normally do when staying away. The location is absolutely stunning, set in a small village nestled amongst the mountain scenery. The pool is beautiful, a good size and well maintained by the caretaker who lives nearby. He is a gem of a neighbour, a lovely, friendly man, on call in case of any problems and happy to share his local knowledge of places and things to do. There is so much to do in and around the surrounding area to suit all tastes. As is our habit, we like to have a day out and then have the next day off, to recover! We still managed to do so much, even with days off factored in. The nearby Villefranche de Conflent is a definite must see. We spent time wandering the little streets and had a meal in one of the restaurants there, Le Patio, which was delicious (we would recommend the brochettes either with beef or duck) YUM! We also took a hair raising 4x4 trip up to the Fort above the village (not for the fainthearted!), wandered around the fort and then tackled the 500+ steps down through the tunnel back to the village. Great fun! Another day was spent in Carcassonne, about an hour and a half by car but well worth a day out as it is a beautiful, walled, Medieval city. Le Petit Train Jaune leaves from nearby Villefranche and was also amazing. We travelled as far as Font Romeu, happy to just sit back and take in the breath taking scenery , don't forget your camera. The highlight of our trip was a boat trip, dolphin watching (Navivoile.com) We left from Port Vendres and spent a wonderful few hours in the company of some beautiful bottlenose dolphins. Obviously it is not guaranteed that you will see any, but we hit the jackpot and were thrilled and enchanted by them for nearly 2 hours. Wow! An amazing experience. The crew were fantastic and very knowledgeable, there was a snack bar on board as well as very good facilities. We had an absolutely amazing time in this beautiful villa. We would thoroughly recommend the property and will certainly be returning soon. Thank you so much.

Summary: We loved this house! It is really pretty, situated on the edge of a tiny village. Every thing we needed for s great holiday was there . We did a couple of great walks (up Canigou which was a hard 10 hour walk, and then the pic de Carlit, a beautiful walk further up the valley) but spent lots of time at the house in the pool and sunbathing on the terrace with lovely views up the valley. The house is spacious, clean and well equipped. Laurent, the caretaker was very helpful. Thank you for a great holiday!
