Positive: Location was good. Accommodation comfortable and dog friendly (although this time we left our dog at home). Owner was friendly and helpful. The 'neighbour' above let us know he lived there - important as we heard his shower in the mornings through the pipes (not a problem as we knew what it was).
Negative: Owner was very busy and took a while to contact when we arrived. Booking.com had sent automatic replies to us to contact her beforehand by phone but despite several messages left she never responded. If she had we would have adjusted our arrival to meet her work patterns. The handover was rushed (as she was supposed to be elsewhere). The heating didn't work and we were given an alternative for the duration of our stay (which worked well). We also struggled to understand the electric hob controls - a 'how to sheet' would have helped.
Summary: Good location. Had an interesting stay despite the poor weather (stormy).

Positive: Absolutely beautiful and cosy cottage. We loved staying here, so quiet and comfortable. The cottage was so clean & tidy. Just stunning place to stay. Definitely a ‘home from home’ we even had some peacocks visit us in the garden! Thank you so much! We will be staying again.

Negative: The location of the property was on a working/children's farm and play park. When I booked the property through Booking.com, we were not fully informed as to where the property was located.

Positive: Location. Size. Two bathrooms. Easy to find. Pets allowed. Peaceful (despite the farm/play noise)
Negative: The garden had a fence panel out and a hole running through the garden. Presuming work was being done but this wasn’t communicated. Woke up one morning to the sheepdog in the garden. Didnt bother me as I love dogs - but I can understand why anyone with a nervous dog or children wouldn’t be thrilled. The missing panel also meant people visiting the play area of the farm could look right in when we had the door open which wasn’t great. Small details seemed to be overlooked. There’s a dishwasher but no tablets. Places like this usually leave a couple. Wasn’t too bothered about washing by hand, but there was no drainer and no absorbent tea towel which wasn’t great. No oven gloves so cooking was a struggle. Empty salt mill. No cleaning spray. The larger bathroom floor didn’t look clean. I’m not saying it was dirty, but it looked very dated.

Positive: A clean and tidy cottage with very easy access from the M6 but without any noticeable traffic noise. Cottage has its own secure garden which was great when staying with dogs.
Negative: It would have been useful to have some cleaning products supplied in the cottage without having to immediately go out and buy these, particularly important in these current times (a very small washing up liquid was supplied but didn't appear to work very well). We would also have appreciated a separate toaster in the kitchen rather than having to use the oven grill for toasting bread etc.
Summary: A very pleasant cottage with easy access from motorway network
