Dancing Firs - Vitality365 Wellness Retreat has been named after 18 fir trees that dance with the ocean breezes of Semiahmoo Bay. This outstanding one acre property of many gardens and forest paths that lead to a very quiet beach over looks Birtch Bay and USA Gulf Islands.
Our Bay View Suite (1,350 square feet) is a semi detached home with private decks and patios with a spectacular 180 degree view of the ocean.
This home is situated on two levels - the upper level has living room / dining room, with a gas fireplace and queen pullout sofa bed , fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a jaccuzzi tub.
The lower level has 2 bedrooms: one private bedroom with king size bed with its own private outdoor courtyard patio and one semi private, with one bathroom with a shower.
High quality Egyptian cotton linens, luxurious organic cotton towels; library books, videos, and magazines offer endless entertainment. High-speed wireless Internet, Nikken water filtration, an automatic cappuccino machine with organic coffee and a deluxe selection of many teas. The property often gets referred to as a "Little Slice Of Heaven" and myself as the "Hostess with the Mostest". :)

Summary: We loved our stay! Many hours were spent gazing at the eagles soar and play in the sky, walking down the winding pathway to the beautiful natural beach below, and seeing/hearing the train pass by like days of old.. The mature garden areas were gorgeous with a variety of flowers blooming and the tiered grass areas were so enjoyable and welcoming . The bottom patio was fabulous for outdoor yoga, and gazing up through the grape arbour to the sky was magical. Mary was a very gracious host! She was warm, welcoming and extremely thoughtful. She made sure we were comfortable and our needs were met at all times. We left feeling sad that the vacation had gone by so quickly, but at the same time were totally rejuvenated and relaxed. Summary: Everything about our stay with Mary and Amanda was top notch. The property is located just up the hill from the White Rock promenade (an easy refreshing 20 minute walk or 2 minute car ride), where you'll find many great restaurants and cute, boutique shops. Crescent Beach, another local gem, is an 8 minute drive in the other direction, with a larger mall (Save on Foods, Shoppers Drugstore, etc,) a 5 minute drive to the north east. The property setting is absolutely stunning; the pictures on the website do not convey the beauty and serenity that you feel when looking out over Semiahmoo Bay towards the Gulf Islands and Birch Point, or walk the trail towards the ravine/ocean in amongst the many fir trees that perform their dance when the wind picks up. If you love nature, you'll see many eagles soaring above the trees and over the ocean, humming birds flitting amongst the bushes, robins, chickadees, towhees, woodpeckers.....an absolute delight to watch and listen to. On more than a few clear, windy days, we counted upwards of 14 eagles. They kept us entertained for hours as they performed their aerial show, soaring high and low above and around us, catching the updraughts, hanging motionless, or diving down towards the ocean and some unknown target. We had our 2 sons and their partners stay with us for a few days over the Christmas holidays, and found the space was comfortable and suitable for the 6 of us, plus a dog and small baby. The kitchen had everything we needed to put on our big Christmas dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 month winter stay with Mary and Amanda. They made us feel so welcome. If we needed anything at anytime, they were prompt and quick to respond. We look forward to returning to this sanctuary soon. My wife and I will miss having our morning coffee in the main room, looking out over the luscious greenery, watching the birds play, backdropped by the Pacific Ocean. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

Summary: My husband and I stayed for six weeks in this beautiful home with spectacular views. Mary keeps the property in immaculate shape. She was extremely helpful, and dealt with a few minor issues very quickly. There is a good BBQ outside the front door. The TV upstairs and downstairs have a good selection of cable as well as Netflix. It was nice to have a large washer and dryer just outside and around the corner in a separate room, but very easy to access and the machines do a good job. The only downside is the fact there isn't a dishwasher. And one must walk through one bedroom to get to the other which wasn't a problem for us (only two people) but it may not work for everyone. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely home in the White Rock/South Surrey/Ocean Park area.
