Skylands Lodge is a contemporary mountain retreat located in the lake community of Highland Lakes, NJ on the NY/NJ border and adjacent to the charming town of Warwick New York and the ski resorts of Vernon New Jersey.
This modern home set on 3.5 acres of private woods just finished a 2 year renovation and features panoramic, breath taking mountain views, Scandinavian modern inspired interiors, a dramatic floor to ceiling stone fireplace, heated in-ground pool and hot tub. Rentals that are 7 days or longer are subject to utilities and propane (pool heat) charges. All rentals require a security deposit relative to the length of stay.
All guests are required to complete a separate house rules agreement and pool/spa rider to gain house access. Sorry, events are not permitted. STR Permit #STR22-00017

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the Modern Mountain House. The pool area and the view was perfection. The house was beautiful, well stocked and very clean. Yuki was a very nice host as he quickly responded to all of our inquiries. We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: We had a lovely long weekend here. House is exactly as pictured, spare but beautiful. Made good use of the hot tub and fireplace. Note: the area is slightly remote, there's very little in the way of delivery and no uber/lyft access here (car services are available for advance bookings but are prohibitively expensive), so this is the perfect home if your plan is to stay in and enjoy what the house has to offer. Owner was extremely responsive and helpful with all requests and kitchen is well-stocked so this is a great house if you plan to do a lot of cooking. I would recommend this stay to anyone who asked.

Summary: We stayed at Yuki’s house for an entire month. Let me start with saying that our family has been doing rentals around the northeast a lot during these COVID times (probably 10 at this point) and this has been the best experience we’ve ever had. The house is tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well suited for actual cooking. (Sometimes rentals can skimp on kitchen appliances etc). The beds were incredibly comfortable which made a month stay a dream and the houses layout made it perfect for family time in the great room. The view of the neighboring mountains, the immaculate pool and privacy of the yard made for an incredible outdoor experience. Besides the beautiful house and outdoors, Yuki was very responsive to any questions or requests we had. We felt like we had a personal concierge who was there for all of our questions. There was a bad storm one night that knocked out power to the whole neighborhood and within minutes of texting Yuki, he was on the phone with the power company and the service was restored within the hour. It was bittersweet saying goodbye to this place as we had such a relaxing experience and hope to rent again with Yuki in the near future. Thanks Yuki for everything.

Summary: My friends and I had a great weekend out of the city at this amazing house! It is exactly as advertised in the photos, and the view from the backyard is stunning. The house was clean, the check in process was seamless, and Yuki was immediately responsive to any inquires we have while there. I hope to return to this property again at some point. We felt very comfortable while staying at the house, and the pool is especially incredible. Thank you for everything, Yuki!

Summary: Beautiful luxury Scandinavian home, I would give it a 10 stars. Floor to ceiling windows with breathtaking mountain views, a spa, and infinity pool - i felt like I was in Norway. Fresh linen, towels and a chef's kitchen - beautiful fire place and everything that you think of was available. Yuki I cannot thank you enough and I will definitely book again for summer. Summary: This mountain top home is a masterpiece of style, beauty and comfort. It was the perfect scene for a quiet winter get away - so close to great trails and parks, a very inviting hot tub, and the ever changing light on the near and distant hills.
