Positive: There was a decent selection for breakfast, pool was nice, gym was nice too. Lots of restaurants nearby and although it was very close to the highway, I couldn't hear any traffic from my room. Staff was very friendly.
Negative: There was a mixup with how I paid and I ended up being charged twice. I caught it before we checked out and it took them about an hour to fix but it was a bit annoying since I said I had paid online when I checked in. Breakfast did have a decent variety of options but there could have been more as far as meat selection goes. One morning there was turkey sausage, the same thing the next day. Would have loved to see some bacon and biscuits and gravy. There was one very creepy guy hanging out in the breakfast area in the evening that was constantly either talking to the male front desk worker or trying to ask several different girls if they needed a ride anywhere. His conversation with each of them started off with, I think I saw you at breakfast this morning, followed by asking them personal questions and then asking them if they needed a ride somewhere. So, just be aware.

Positive: Arrival: The front desk staff were happy, welcoming, and professional. Walking into a clean and tidy entrance is a sign of a well-tended property to me, and that is a nice way to set the vibe. The staff is welcoming, and I noticed they went the extra mile to help guests with their stay in general. In one situation, they helped a more senior couple find a nice quiet place for dinner nearby, and in another, they pointed a well-chaperoned high school track team to the local In-N-Out Burger place across I-35. Breakfast: The breakfast was a significant plus to the value proposition. The serving areas were immaculately clean. Staff members came and went regularly to keep the serving areas tidy and the selections fresh and appetizing. There was a good selection of items, including chicken sausage, traditional country sausage, a frittata, tasty-looking scrambled eggs, and so forth. They had many things to add to the oatmeal, including halved walnuts and craisins. Overall, the quality of the breakfast sets the place apart from its peers. Quarters: I had a ground-floor king with a separate sofa/bed and business area. It was a well-laid-out floor plan in that regard. Business people should appreciate the separation, as well as the size and layout of the work surface. The Wi-fi was strong and dependable. Clothes storage was fine. There was a very nice indoor pool with crystal clear water as well. I noticed maintenance people once, and they came across as knowing what they were doing. Management seems attentive to keeping the property running efficiently. This property is not brand spanking new. That being said, it is well-maintained, clean, and located in a safe-feeling area. Cold water, coffee, and fresh cookies were adjacent to the check-in area, which made the high school track team happy. The fact that schools selected this property says much about it in my book. Thankfully, the kids were well-behaved and not noisy. Adjacent to I-35 but quiet.
Negative: Shower and "make ready" area: It is a tub shower with a good shower head. It was serviceable enough, but I have gotten spoiled on standup showers. Others might find it more appealing. It was clean and well-kept. A door separates the makeup area from the shower and facilities, and it is all in a sort of nook off the room's central area. So, this is more like a personal preference. Great towels, however. It is not the latest design, but I did not feel like I was in the barracks either. The good news is that you get clean and get on with the day without lingering too long. Austin traffic: While the location is generally good, you are on the outer edge of the quicker routes to downtown or the Domain. Choose your route carefully to avoid I-35 traffic during peak times. It can be done. Lamar might be your friend, as opposed to 35. That is part of the tradeoff for having a safer and secure feel to the location.
Summary: Well maintained, well operated, and welcoming property attracts a good clientele. Safe/Secure feel.
