Positive: Didn’t stay at Square Hotel as they advised in advance we had been upgraded to Hotel Messeyne a couple of doors down. Posh hotel. Very expensive menu but couldn’t fault the food either at dinner or breakfast. Car park underground & extremely tight.
Negative: Ridiculous price for the dogs, €25 per night per dog & not even a water bowl!
Summary: Good location but expensive add ons

Positive: Got to the Square and it looked closed. Got in the door intercom and we were told to come back down the road to the Hotel Messeyne instead. Brilliant hotel and staff. Bike storage in rear conference room which was fantastic. Lovely courtyard for drinks and breakfast, which was also the best value breakfast in Belgium!!
Negative: Very little. All really good. Not sure what the deal is with The Square hotel itself, but glass to have stayed where we did

Positive: The Square Hotel is owned by the same operator that also runs the Hotel Messeyne around the corner. If the hotel offers to upgrade you to rooms in Messeyne, say yes! It's fabulous.. Not that there is anything wrong with the Square Hotel - stayed here a few times and it was always very good.. Both hotels are in a great central location and the staff couldn't be more welcoming and friendly!
Negative: The Square Hotel has only very limited parking so you may have to park at the nearby public garage. No big hardship though - it's only a short walk away and secure.

Positive: We had a very spacious room with a large modern bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the lady on reception was friendly and helpful. The hotel was well located and within easy walking distance of everything.
Negative: Maybe tea/coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.
