Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: Extremely nice and helpful staff: free coffee and tea, free luggage storage Close to center
Negative: The area is extremely poor, it's the slums. I (think)I heard gunshots in the evening. I did not feel safe, after night this area does not look safe. On our first night, there were police in the hotel because of the district and they asked why we even booked here. Do not recommend for women, especially solo female travelers.
Summary: Great staff, dangerous area

Positive: The staff were very kind, friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which I really appreciated. They also provided a cleaning service during my stay, and I was able to leave my luggage at the property for a few hours after checking out, which was very convenient. The location is quite central and convenient for getting around. Although the property is situated in a few narrow backstreets, the area felt safe overall, and as a solo female traveler, I never felt uncomfortable or unsafe walking around.
Negative: I feel that the bathroom could have benefited from a more thorough deep cleaning. I completely understand that humidity can be an issue in bathrooms, but there were certain areas that could have been cleaned more carefully, as they seemed to trap dirt and unpleasant odors. The towels also didn’t feel particularly fresh, which made me wonder whether they had been washed or dried properly. Another thing worth mentioning is the lack of soundproofing. Unfortunately, noise travels very easily between rooms, and during the night I could clearly hear the guests staying upstairs, which was quite disturbing at times. Overall, I think a little more attention to cleanliness, a few additional basic amenities, and better sound insulation could have made the stay much more comfortable and enjoyable.
Summary: Overall ok!

Positive: Helpful staff Good location for adventurous travellers - close to Basmane railway station, easy walking distance to main Izmir archeological site and the wonderful bazaar area. Some might find the hotel's actual location a bit edgy, but I loved the vibrant neighbourhood and the old houses. Good range of drinks, snacks and light meals available.
Negative: No lift, lots of stairs. A bit noisy - I could hear startlingly loud noises from the room next-door, and the early morning call-to-prayer from the nearby mosque was almost deafening in my room at the back

Positive: Tottally recommended! The place was nice, the staff was really helpful and always there! The hotel rooms and bathroom was clean. The neighbourhood is pretty close to a metro station and close to the city center even on foot 15/20 min. The neighbourhood may seem little bit "sketchy" at first but do not be intimidated, even tho it's pretty diverse with Turks, Arabs, Africans, all of them are nice, just be careful on the narrow roads since the drivers arent paying much attention to the rules. Definitely try the local food shops and restaurants and cafes, which may not look fancy but the food and turkish kahve taste amazing! My recommendations Gaziantepli Orhan Baba which makes amazing meals and local soups known as corba. And also down the road a small coffee/tee house named Mardin Cay Evi, with traditional old style stools and tables, they make amazing turkish kahve and the prices are incredibly cheap!
Summary: Totally Recommended!

Positive: Great location for exploring the old city. We chose this hotel primarily because of its proximity to the Kapalı Çarşı, and it was an excellent base for sightseeing. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. While the immediate surroundings were not the most attractive part of the city, this did not affect our stay. In fact, we were pleasantly surprised by some of the local bakeries and small shops nearby, which gave us a glimpse of everyday local life. Overall, a good choice for anyone looking for convenient access to Izmir’s kapali çarşi.
Summary: We like the proximity to the Kapali Çarsi

Positive: We really liked everything. Staff are friendly and responsive. There is always someone at the reception (24 hours). There are various restaurants, bakery and supermarkets around otel. Also, it is close to metro/subway.
Negative: Nothing. Maybe, neighbourhood may seem weird for people who are not familiar with local people, but nothing scary:).
