Positive: Lovely hosts, Deb and Colin couldn’t have been nicer, lovely home-made cake from Deb on arrival and Colin even leant me his spotting scope! The photos don’t really do this place justice, it’s a really beautifully finished little barn conversion. Very relaxed and peaceful location, there’s a really stunning view from the patio looking down into a wooded valley and hills beyond. All you can hear is bird song. Only a short drive to Pickering and Rosedale and Cropton forest are close by. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway :)
Negative: Only a small thing and only a suggestion, but a table lamp would be good in the lounge for some ambient lighting on an evening :)

Positive: Super friendly hosts, lovely little bolthole miles from anywhere. Perfectly peaceful, zero traffic noise with fantastic views from the patio (I even had a family of deer walk past within 100 yards of me). Very well done inside, great shower, the binoculars on the windowsill were a nice little touch. At night you can see nothing outside but the lights from a village pub a few miles away.
Negative: A double bed would have been preferable to 2 singles but I was solo so not a big deal for me. The patio is fantastic and large, with 2 outdoor seats and a table - a sunlounger or 2 out there as well would have made it absolute perfection.
