1 Bedroom Cottage in Bandol, Le Castellet

Small historical stone-built cottage PANISSE, occupying a surface of 30 sqm, is located next to the main house at a few feet from the swimming pool. In former times it served as a storage place for the Mas. Together with an architect, we gave it a new destiny. Today we present Panisse as a very charming, comfortably furnished and well-equipped space with a private terrace protected by a Provençal pergola.
The fully equipped open kitchen has been elegantly integrated into the living room. The wooden structure of the roof has been kept visible just like the stone build wall. Every square cm of surface has been preciously planned in order to optimize the comfort of our holiday makers. In the living room, you benefit from a large and comfortable sofa-bed. The children’s room next door is equipped with two bunk beds. A shower room and separate WC complete the setting.
Opening the large window panes first thing in the morning will offer you a great view on the swimming pool. A dinner - why not cooked on the plancha grill - on your private terrace next to the pool will close the day in company of the cicada chorus!
Cottage Panisse as the other three units has full access to the pool, the parking and the garden.
MAS DU GALANTIN - A 16th century Vineyard Farm (Mas Provençal), not far from the superb medieval village of Le Castellet, at 10 minutes driving distance from Bandol and the beaches:
charm and authenticity in the homeland of novel writer and film maker Marcel Pagnol. We offer you to share the unique atmosphere left by our ancestors in 3 charming Provence style apartments and a historical cottage for 2-8 persons. All 4 carry names of characters from Pagnol’s “Trilogie Marseillaise” and each of them has its own personality.
They all have private shaded terraces equipped with a barbecue or a plancha grill and private entrances. They have in common: a large swimming pool (11 x 5,5 m) on a property of 2.500 sqm facing the vineyards, our house mountain "Gros Cerveau" and a large private parking. They are all equipped with free wireless internet.
A dream of peaceful and untouched surroundings, where the easiness of living and the famous «Provençal accent» cherished by Marcel Pagnol himself persist. Here, the vineyards of the world-famous Bandol and the bronze colored olive-trees are deployed as far as the eye can see.
Mas du Galantin was first mentioned in the official books in the year 1550. It has been extended subsequently over the centuries and reached its actual size in 1897. Historically the property served as vineyard farm to the vine producing domain. It was only in the beginning of the nineteen sixties that both were sold to separate owners and became “Mas du Galantin” (the historical house) and “Domaine Le Galantin” (the vineyard).
We had the chance to become the happy owners of the Mas in 2003. When visiting the first time, we fell in love with the situation, the historic building and felt very good vibes at the property.
We undertook over the years a series of renovations and created the parking and the garden. We created the 3 apartments in the main house – César (145 sqm, sleeping 8), Marius (120 sqm, sleeping 6) and Fanny (90 sqm, sleeping 4) were born. We transformed the cottage at the pool into a cozy apartment – the birth of Panisse (30 sqm, sleeping 4)
Our guests regularly confirm our impression of our first visit – the good vibes at Mas du Galantin. They appreciate the multi-family environment. Many times, we observe children making new friends during their stay at Mas du Galantin and parents having a good time together during their holidays. Many guests are coming back – the biggest compliment we can expect.

Summary: We loved our stay at Mas du Galantine. It was a really charming place to stay in a really lovely area. We had everything we needed there and in the area, and the host was very easy to communicate with. I would thoroughly recommend it and can see why people return - as we hope to do as well.

Summary: We had a lovely two weeks in Provence, staying for one week in Panisse and another in Fanny. All the accommodation was kept to the highest standard and was as described. The Nespesso coffee machines were greatly appreciated. We found everything we needed for self catering with two young children. We especially enjoyed the barbecues. The pool area was beautiful and very well maintained and swimming there was a highlight for us all. Staying in Panisse, we enjoyed the pool views. The location was great, surrounded by beautiful vineyards and hills, yet only a ten minute drive to some beautiful beaches in Bandol and elsewhere. We especially enjoyed the beach at Renecros in Bandol. We also enjoyed buying fresh produce at the Wednesday market in Sanary-sur-Mer. There was an excellent supermarket nearby too. We found everyone very friendly and welcoming and had a great stay. Inside the apartment there was an excellent information folder with detailed maps of the area and excursion ideas.

Summary: We recently stayed in the Cottage at the Mas Du Galantin in Le Castellet and it was a really fantastic experience. The Cottage was even better than we expected, ideal for 2 people or a family with 2 children. The property was really clean and well maintained. The facilities in the Cottage were brilliant, everything you need. The owner has done a really fantastic job with the renovations of the whole property. The location in the hills was magical and an easy 20 minute drive to the coastal town of Bandol. The property is nestled in the hills and with the blue sky and fresh air, you felt like you were in your own little world. The owner visited us a few times and was always contactable which was a real help when needing tips for day trips and good local restaurants. The Rose wine from the area is world famous and we enjoyed many a glass watching the sunset by the pool. There are many great local restaurants in Bandol and surrounding towns. This is by far the best holiday I have had for a long time and with blue skies, good food, great company and fantastic wine, I would highly recommend Mas Du Galantin to all my family and friends.....I hope to go back there next year.

Summary: We had a lovely time in this small cottage Panisse with the four of us. Enjoying the provencal life like outside dining and drinking Bandol wines next to the swimming pool. The property is clean and well maintained and perfecty located in a quiet place between Bandol, La Cadiere and Le Castellet betwwen the wine ranks. This is definitely a place to come back. Tips: swimming and snorkelling in Port D'Alon Enjoy an afternoon drink under the trees in La Cadiere Make a cruise towards the Calanques between Cassis and Marseille
