Positive: The people at Stonehust Manor are really really helpful and pleasant. The location was beautiful. Tons to do in the immediate area. The dining experience was good. The food was solid, B+ to an A. Dining and breakfast options were very good, with lots of options to choose from.
Negative: The room was not clean. Comforter had stains on it (don't dare guess what). It took us two days to get a working iron to the room. And overall, because there were obvious visible signs of a lack of cleanliness, it left us wondering what else wasn't clean. And the rooms overall were dated without amenities you would expect for the fee/rate we paid. Not a good feeling when you spend the kind of money we spent to stay.
Summary: The cost/investment didn't match the overall quality of the stay.

Positive: We enjoy staying in historic places and this didn’t disappoint , the lobby, lounge, and dining rooms had great ambiance. Our room was on the third floor which was fine and the bed was very comfortable.
Negative: We understand that in a historical location some areas will need more updating or care. Our bathroom was disappointing as the tub area had moldy tub grout and there was some mold on the bathroom ceiling.
Summary: The restaurant in the manor and the lounge was the 5 star part of our stay.
