Gorgeous historic farmhouse, close to Shawnigan Lake village, boat launches & beaches. Sleeps 8.
A truly unique family-friendly property on half an acre with green outlooks from every window. Relax on the large private sun-drenched deck, or around the firepit area. Take an infrared sauna and cool off in the outdoor shower. There's an outdoor BBQ grill and a trampoline. In winter get cozy around the wood burning stove in the main living room.
The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 baths (with 2 bathtubs) plus 2 separate lounge areas.
The jewel of the area is Shawnigan Lake itself! You can choose from two different boat launches and three public beaches, all within a 2 – 4 minute drive of the house.
Feel free to bring your boat, you can park the trailer at the house as there’s a dedicated parking space for it.
We’re a short walk to the village of Shawnigan Lake / 4-way which has a bakery, cafe, an artisan ice-cream shop, a Mexican bistro, two Thai restaurants, Pizza place, two Sushi restaurants, and a Subway. There’s also a general store, yoga studio, post office, gas station, vintage stores and the Black Swan Pub just around the corner! Or drive there in less than a minute.
This is one of the rare historic farmhouses in the area, lovingly restored. You’ll have full access to the entire property. Plenty of off-street parking.
Note there are fairly steep stairs to the upper floor of the house, which might not work for those with mobility issues.
The hot tub in it's own private area in the back. It's a Softub - a small (2-3 person max), soft-sided hot tub - very comfortable, no moulded plastic seats, you sit on the floor of it.

From the moment we arrived, we were thoroughly impressed with the impeccable cleanliness and organization throughout the entire house. It truly felt like a home away from home. The fully equipped kitchen was a delight, allowing us to prepare meals with every necessary tool and utensil at my fingertips. Summary: The farmhouse is extremely charming, and large enough to comfortably accommodate an extended family, with members ranging in age from 7 years to 80 years old. We enjoyed a beautiful beach day at the park less than a 5 minute drive away. The kids had a blast paddling around on the kayaks provided by our hosts. A rain day gave us the chance to chill out and enjoy some of the attractions and restaurants in the area. Our hosts provided lots of tips for things to see and do. We would definitely consider another vacation at the farmhouse as there is much more to explore in the area.

Summary: Had a fantastic 14 day stay. Loads of room. We were a party of 6 adults but never felt on top of each other. Great location for plenty of adventures, whale watching swimming and kinsol tressle although you do need a car. We went to a wedding in Shawnigan lake and the property was an ideal location. Great place to stay.

Summary: This farm house was everything we hoped it would be. Amazing response and communication from hosts..plenty of wood to keep us warm, wonderful character home and beds were great! Walking distance to town and an over all great time for a girls weekend! Highly recommend!

Summary: We had a lovely stay at this property. The home is beautiful. We loved the fireplace which heated the home and watched movies together in the family room. lots of beds (of different levels of comfort) and plenty of linens and towels. Many small touches that made it comfortable. We appreciated the board games in particular. Good internet enabled us to stream and watch what we liked. I recommend you consider bringing your own cookware/essential items as it was really limited and we had to adjust our meal plans to accommodate limited pots/pans/dishes/cookware. They note it’s a soft hot tub which we learned means inflatable and had more outdoor bath vibes as there aren’t built in seats. That’s our fault for not understanding the listing. While we attempted to enjoy the outdoor fire pit it must have had a kink in the hose and sent up a small fireball about 10 minutes into our experience. Overall we really like the property but it’s still newer to the rental market and some of the features weren’t what we expected.

Summary: My girlfriend and I stayed at the property for our Highschool reunion. It’s so charming and lovely. Our favorite spot was the living room and wood burning stove. We had lots of firewood and kept it burning most of the time we were there. The covered outside deck was also lovely. The kitchen was well stocked and clean. We would definitely stay again!
