Deerwood Lodge is a beautiful hunting lodge, lovingly renovated into a stunning 3,400 sq foot, five bedroom family house. Set in 70 acres of lush woodland teaming with wildlife and birds, and two large decks over-looking a private crystal-clear lake, it is just two hours from the GW Bridge. We have spent many years and a lot of time and love turning Deerwood Lodge into the luxury retreat it is today, exceptionally private but within easy drive of the nearby town of Callicoon-on-the-Delaware
Upstairs is a large open plan living space of kitchen, tv room, sun-room, dining room and pool room. There are two large upstairs bedrooms, one with a gorgeous view of the lake and en-suite bathroom with extra large whirlpool bath. The other bedroom has a four poster bed and a view of the vegetable garden
Downstairs there is a separate living room space with an office area and three further bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has a babyletto wooden crib in there too, and the sofa in the downstairs den opens up to a double sofa bed.
The space is served by a powerful aircon system in summer and a stunning huge fireplace in winter. There is wooden flooring throughout, much of which has under floor heating.
The lodge is set in 70 acres of stunning woodland with numerous walking trails and full of wildlife. There are amazing bird spotting opportunities on the top deck and deer wander freely through the grounds. On the upper deck there is an outdoor furniture set, fire pit for winter evening stargazing sessions, herb garden, two barbeques, and outdoor dining area illuminated by hanging string lights. The lower deck has plenty of outdoor furniture and is great for sunbathing
With its open plan space and endless opportunities for outdoor exploring, Deerwood Lodge is perfect for families of all sizes. It is well kitted out for children, and we offer the use of a Babyletto wooden crib in the downstairs double room, high chair, baby brezza bottle cleaning machine and bottle warmer. We have child-proofed many of the kitchen cupboards, covered all the plug sockets and have stair gates for both staircases. Well behaved dogs are also welcome, and we provide a dog basket and crate.
You are welcome to humanly fish in our private lake, as long as you put the fish back - however please bring your own fishing equipment as we don't have any here.
We provide: linens and towels, luxury toiletries, variety of coffee/nespresso/tea/cooking oils etc, firewood, apple tv and cable.
Please note: no parties, no weddings, no filming. We have 2 external security cameras (one by the front door and one by the back door) and 2 internal security cameras (one by the front door and one in the pool room). These are turned on when the house is empty, and turned off once we can see guests have checked in and remain off for the duration of the guests's stay.

Summary: My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with our family about 2 years ago. We returned end of May to celebrate our daughter's wedding which took place at Handsome Hollow nearby. This beautiful lodge accommodated our family and was a perfect place to relax. Sitting on the deck in the early morning and evening listening to the birds and watching deer go by and walking the property and sitting by the pond was completely enjoyable. The house is clean and well kept. The owners were responsive and helpful. Highly recommended! We plan to return.

Summary: My family and I spent a very relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable weekend in celebration of my wife's and mine 41st wedding anniversary. The accommodations were perfect and the property was well maintained. It was a pleasure to deal with Vikki and Marc. They were very helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. Summary: My family of 6 had an incredible long weekend getaway at Vikki and Mark’s home. It’s beautiful. Clean. Private. The views from all rooms are of the breathtaking mountains and it was peaceful and serene. The house and property are beautifully maintained. It was a pleasure to escape the city. The kids sled (2 sleds on property) and hiked and played pool. We had wonderful meals at the dining room table that seats 12. And one day we drove 40 minutes to nearby mountain to ski. We did have plan for horseback riding trail but that day temperature was below 20 so we opted out. Lots to do and all covid safe. Wonderful experience and have already shared listing with friends and family. Thank you.
