Nestled between the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Mont Ventoux ithis lovely family friendly and spacious house, surrounded by vineyards and its own woodlands and trails, lies c. 2 kms from the village of Le Barroux.
The house is welcoming, functional and relaxing and is a perfect get away in the heart of Provence. It is perfect for family holidays or to enjoy amongst friends as well as being great for cyclists and in particular those looking to cycle up the iconic Mt Ventoux as you can cycle from the house to the Mt Ventoux climb as well as many other lovely rides which will be suitable for all levels. It is also a great location for mountain biking with great trails which start from the house itself.
The spacious house has 6 double bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a large lounge with open fire, a dinning room which can seat at least 8 and a well equipped kitchen with its own dining table. Outside there are landscaped gardens with olive trees and beautiful terraces which wrap around the house giving spectacular views over the Provencal landscape. One of the terraces is covered and has a large dinning table and gas fired BBQ close by (ideal for lazy lunches!), another terrace has a large u shaped contempory sofa suite and chairs with views over the vineyards and the mountains beyond (ideal for relaxing after a long lazy lunch!)
There is a large (18m x 6m) beautiful heated and gated pool open from April with its own pool house (including a table tennis table) and shaded area as well as well maintained gardens.
The interior of the house is decorated and furnished to a high standard with wifi and cable TV as well as music sound systems internally and externally on the terraces as well as by the swimming pool. There is also secure storage for bicycles.
Close to many tourist sites, it is 30 minutes from Avignon, 15 minutes from Vaison la Romaine and a 10 minute cycle ride from the typically Provençal and historic village of Le Barroux.
There is no shortage of local activities: the markets with authentic smells and flavours, coffee terraces and unmissable restaurants, delicious bakeries and pastries, as well as red, white and rosé wine tasting in the famous cellars in the vicinity including Beaumes de Venise (where our own grapes are taken after the harvest in September), Gigondas and Cairanne.
As for sports activities there is a wide choice: horse riding is nearby, cycling excursions (with several bicycle rental shops who will bring hire bikes to the house), walking footpaths accessible from the house, climbing, and of course ... the very sporty and courageous climbing of the Provençal Giant the Mont Ventoux with iconic 1912 metres climb.
In terms of culture, you will be spoiled by the many visits to the most beautiful villages with their narrow lanes, Romanesque churches, abbeys, castles, museums and the ancient sites of Vaison la Romaine, Orange, Avignon and their festivals.

Summary: We found the house comfortable and a genuine escape to a beautiful and serene setting. In warm weather the pool is a great advantage. The location provided the opportunity to visit many villages in Provence.

Summary: We enjoyed staying in this property which is set in a lovely secluded area of this region.The outside dining terrace offers tranquility and views of the very well maintained garden area with a separate terrace to the side of the house with ample seating to enjoy pre dinner drinks as the sun sets.The pool and its surrounding area is excellent and big enough for all to enjoy and the sound system both around the pool area and separately by the dining terrace added to our enjoyment.The owner of the property was most helpful both during the booking process and during our stay and the local caretaker was similarly on hand for advice during our stay.It could be good to revisit one day and to see how the high level terrace ,which we think might be a work in progress , adds even further to what we think is a very good holiday property indeed.

Summary: This our third stay in this beautiful house. If you are looking for somewhere incredibly peaceful with stunning views then you won’t be disappointed. The house was spotlessly clean and is very well equipped. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the house offers all the mod cons you would expect and more so plenty to keep the kids entertained. The swimming pool is of a good size so great if you want to swim some lengths. There is also plenty of space to lounge by the pool including a shaded area. If you want to enjoy the views, then the balcony or the seating area at the top of the plot is the place to be. Aside from relaxing in total seclusion, we also enjoyed visiting the local markets for a spot of shopping. There are also plenty of good restaurants in the surrounding areas. It is certainly worth making use of the guide book written by the locals as it has some good advice on which attractions to visit. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Summary: Caroline"s home is a beautiful home in a tranquil, rural setting with outstanding views of the surrounding hills and vineyards. We enjoyed all it had to offer including the lovely pool. The kitchen was well equipped and allowed for many gourmet meals, enjoying the wonderful fresh produce from Provence. Caroline and her caretaker, were a pleasure to deal with and responded quickly to any problems.

Summary: The house itself is beautiful, very clean, and very well equipped. The pool and grounds are simply amazing - spacious lawns, plenty of areas to sit and follow the sun round, and spectacular views of the vineyards. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet on the property, but excellent restaurants and bars are within easy reach. The owners could not have made things more helpful and welcoming. Can't wait to go back.

Summary: We enjoyed a fantastic holiday. The house is very welcoming, spacious and well equipped overlooking vineyards and olive trees from the terraces with a swimming pool table tennis and amazing views of hilltop villages. It was a superb place to be. We enjoyed meals in local restaurants and visited local markets and did a lot of sightseeing. We look forward to returning.
