3 Bedroom House in Okere Falls

A great lake view from a wide, sheltered, sunny deck, plus a large (1570sqm) section to play on. A classic 1940s bach with 1970s additions set in native bush with native birds to wake up to and sunrises to die for.
One minute walk to the lake edge, two minutes to the jetty or lockable on-water boatshed where you can keep your (up to 5.5m) powerboat and water toys safe, protected from the elements and so convenient - better than a jetty! There's a one-off $60 charge for use of the boatshed during your stay.
Whether it is trout fishing, water skiing, visiting the fabulous boat-access-only Manupirua hot pools, taking nearby bush walks, popping down to the iconic Okere Falls Store and cafe/beer garden, or taking in the many attractions of Rotorua (25 minutes away) this is a great base. Comfortably furnished and well equipped, with a congenial old lounge, and good appliances. Newly carpeted 2018 and 2 heat pumps fitted. A real bonus is the fantastic spring water: pure, perfect, cool drinking water straight from the tap!
With a steep hill behind to the southwest, you are out of the prevailing wind, making this a year round option for a peaceful and romantic break or a refreshing (salt-free!) change from the usual family holiday by the sea.
Unfortunately our bach is not suitable for small children as it is possible (though of course definitely not advised) to climb/and or sit on the balcony rails. Also there are some steep internal stairs down to the bottom bedroom and bathroom. Please ensure you hold the rail going down these.

Summary: A classic bach updated and made super cosy and inviting. Don’t bring kids under 4 - the balcony railing is not at today’s height standards. But it is truly a special place. Beautiful, tranquil view. Great for our family of four.

Summary: If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a quintessential NZ lake-style bach, this is perfect! Location is beautiful with views east across the lake, set back in native bush, and up above all the neighbours you're secluded but still only a 2 minute walk to the lake. House is wonderfully set up, the deck and outdoor dining area is great for family meals. Thanks so much for sharing with us, we'd love to stay again!

Summary: The property was great so much room to move around in, inside and out. The steep drive was a challenge however a great way to lose those extra pounds. The location was amazing as was the views and the close proximity to our family and lake, all having the boat shed was an added bonus, a microwave would be nice however we look forward to returning for another holiday. Summary: Lovely big bach, plenty of room for everyone and very cosy. Loved the deck and great lake views. Highly recommend using the boat shed - made getting in and out of the lake very easy! Lovely hot pools close by and some good fishing. Bach does get a little damp but after a day of being there the moisture seemed to disappear and was very pleasant. We would definitely stay again.
