4 Bedroom Place in Town of Marbletown, Kingston

This 300-year-old Colonial Stonehouse was fully restored with comfort and modern conveniences while tending to the details with lots of love and attention to keep its historic integrity. It becomes your get-away to the Hudson Valley History and its natural beauty.
The house was renovated with lots of love and filled with old original and very modern touches:
Our comfortably spacious kitchen is filled with modern conveniences including a 6-burner Viking range and a restored walk-in fireplace.
The living room has a working fireplace and a " Vico Magistretti for Cassina” leather sofa. There’s plenty of room to relax, and a video projector with a pull-down screen for your own movie nights.
The elegant dining room invites dinner parties and festivities with a beautiful maple “Pace” dining table.
The sun room’s vintage wood table is beautifully suited for a leisurely lunch. Ceiling fans provide a nice breeze in summer while the pellet stove adds coziness in colder times.
An energy-efficient heating and cooling system is as environmentally friendly as possible. Our energy comes from a community solar farm.
With a panoramic view of the Catskills Range, the seasonable saltwater swimming pool with patio and sun-chairs offers relaxation. Also set behind the house, a fully functioning grill invites outdoor cooking. To top the experience, we offer an outdoor Barrel Sauna. The use of the off-the-grid wood-burning sauna is incredibly rejuvenating and enjoyable set among many apple trees.
Guests can wander the 6 acres of land leading - at the far end to the Esopus creek winding through the adjacent nature preserve. It is incredibly calming to hang out by the creek, fish, or kayak.
The house is rentable from a minimum of 3 days to 10 days maximum.
In addition to the house, the property also has an event space in and around the barn overlooking the Esopus creek. If you would like to host your friends and family for a fun party, retreat, or wedding, the 1200-sqft barn can accommodate smaller or larger gatherings of max. 120 guests. Special wedding/event packages and personalized offers are available.

Summary: We loved our stay at 7 Miles. We were in town for my brother's wedding in nearby Stone Ridge. Not only did our core family stay at the house, but we also rented the barn for a rehearsal luncheon. Konstanze was such a gracious host; very hospitable and friendly and was so helpful as we planned the rehearsal lunch. Her home is simply stunning. You can feel all of the design elements and stylistic flourishes from the moment you arrive on the property. We also enjoyed the salt water pool on the hot Summer July days. If you're looking for a great place in the Hudson Valley I couldn't recommend 7 Miles enough.

Summary: We stayed at the beautiful 7 Miles for 10 days in the middle of a hot July. The property was spacious and well-appointed, with plenty of amenities. We spent most of our time outdoors, swimming in the pool and lounging among the trees. Truly exceptional property! Definitely do not miss out on a swim in the Esopus Creek, which is just a short walk from the house. Konstanze was lovely! She checked on us after a big storm and was available (but not intrusive!) and accommodating throughout our stay. We would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Summary: First and foremost, if you are a lover of historic homes and renovations, this home will be a delight. Period features abound throughout the and it is clear that it has been restored painstakingly and with care. I, personally, liked the juxtaposition of the 1700s home and the modern furnishings. There were many thoughtful details throughout, but some glitches: - The owner has had some less-than-savory experiences with renters in the past and is overly-cautious and protective to the point of it being to the detriment to the experience. I got the impression that they are fairly new to renting the property and so perhaps that will fade in time. There were a myriad of rules presented in the renter's agreement, most of which were common sense if you are a decent, tidy person. Add to that, notes posted all over the house restating the rules and it seemed a bit much. We could feel the nervousness and that made it feel at times like we were unwelcome guests. - We brought our dog, which we paid the $500 security deposit for. We were instructed the dog was not to pee or poop in the fenced in area, which essentially meant the dog is not allowed in the yard, since I cannot control my dog's bladder or bowels. There were multiple signs posted in this area that we would be subjected to a $500 fine if we allowed the dog to do so. It probably makes sense for the owner to just not allow pets. - Multiple security cameras outside felt a little invasive - Laundry is not yet available. We had a situation where downpours prevented the pool towels and swimsuits from drying naturally. When I inquired about a dryer I was instructed that a laundromat was 10 minutes away. I think the owner was trying to be helpful, but at $1200 per night, this seemed an insulting response. Later communication further explained that laundry was under construction and should be available later in the year. Owner did make accommodations for us to utilize bath towels, which helped the situation. - All beds except the master are against stone walls - with no head boards. Not comfortable for reading and not ideal for children. - There are great dining spaces for large groups, but no communal lounge spaces to fit more than 4 ppl. The pool was lovely, but use the pool cover at night. The living room projector was awesome. Enclosed porch was perfect for group meals. Overall, there is room for improvement with simple changes, but the ingredients are all there for a lovely time

Summary: We had a lovely stay here. The home is a renovated rustic farmhouse so it is very unique and charming. There is a beautiful dining room so we did a lot of cooking and eating in. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. The kids (and us too) loved sitting out by the fire pit and toasting marshmallows for s'mores. The owner was also very conscientious and prompt in responding to any questions which made for a very enjoyable stay.
