The villa is located in a private, exclusive compound and offers a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay, considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, where sea turtles lay their eggs in the summer and frigate birds and cormorants fish at dust within the reef. The building, designed by an Italian engineer, combines the security of reinforced concrete with wood. The elegance of the rooms and furniture, in their simplicity, offer comfort and elegance perfectly integrated with the Caribbean style.
The villa is sanified after each guest departure and before a new one arrives. Between the guest departure and the new arrival we keep 24h for the cleaning and sanification.
The villa is equipped with WiFi Internet access, standby generator, swimming pool pump timer, garden with fruit trees and tropical flowers and a large lawn. The three bedrooms have private bathrooms and living area, with sofas and sofa beds, and are integrated with the veranda by the pool. The small bedroom has a bunk bed perfect for children. Summary: We absolutely loved Villa Romano. It is in the most stunning location with views over Antigua’s best beach, Half Moon Bay. It’s a 5 minute walk to the beach and you’ll be able to enjoy Tippi and Avery’s Beach Bum Bar with it’s delicious food and equally good Rum Punches! If you want shiny and modern then go somewhere else. If you want to go a bit old school holiday home with charm and soul then this is your place. We’re definitely coming back.

Summary: This home was everything we needed for our vacation. Secluded with complete privacy in the house, pool and gardens. The 3 bedrooms themselves are basic but each have their own full bathroom and air conditioning. There is no AC in the living room/kitchen areas but there are fans that can be used on those few days that the island breezes are still. The kitchen has everything you’d need to cook anything you want...a gas oven and stove, microwave, full fridge and coffee maker. Insects are always a challenge in the Islands(we have traveled to many and always need to take ants into account), but if you keep your food enclosed in ziplock bags or in the refrigerator it’s not a big problem. The pool and view are EVERYTHING! The pool is large enough for all the kids to play in and the adults to do laps. There is a very limited shallow end so it might not be best for very small children but for our kids it was awesome! The view from the pool and the pool deck overlooking Half Moon Bay is stunning. We spend most of our home time on the deck overlooking the beach. So relaxing! Bernadine and Carty were excellent hosts, meeting us at the airport, checking in with us every day to see if we needed anything, and answering any questions we had about activities or snorkeling spots. Thanks so much for an amazing vacation. We look forward to coming back again for future vacations.

Summary: This villa is in a fabulous location with a wonderful pool and great support from Bernardine and Carty. It’s value for money and not for those expecting spanking new. We loved its character and informal nature. A really beautiful location where you can walk to the stunning Half Moon Bay.

Summary: This little gem is definitely off the beaten path but the sun and sea has taken a toll on this 30 year old property. The photos online probably were taken several years ago after the last painting. The deck, walls, furniture, kitchen and bathrooms definitely need some TLC. The house overall was very clean but we had issues with ants in the kitchen (due to heavy rain the week before) and even found roaches, a scorpion and some fun looking red spiders in the house during our stay. Being that we are from Texas, these are not new to us but found the ants were a constant battle in the kitchen. Not so much fun to deal with when trying to prep and cook meals daily. Our kids loved the pool and the location of the house is really everything. I would personally say this is a 3 bedroom Villa that offers a pool storage room that can be converted to a 4th sleeping area that offers two bunk beds. (Think bachelor sleeping quarters, not a place for children to sleep). The back patio is where it’s all at. The little Beach Bum cafe on the beach was our go to favorite spot. Harry’s we found was rarely open when we needed it and ran out of food many days. We went in June so it was low season so many restaurants are not open during the week. You need to call in advance to make a reservation. Not because it’s busy, but so they know to open. It’s important to know this because this is all that is around for many miles to eat out or even get food. The grocery store is a good 30 minute drive. Everything is “only” about 10-16 miles away but you drive 40 Km an hour (approx 20 MPH) so you don’t get anywhere all that quickly from Half Moon Bay. It is definitely a favorite beach and offers great snorkeling, but currently there is a seaweed issue on the Atlantic side the last year or two so the beach is covered in seaweed. The owner Francesco is VERY responsive to all questions and any issues that came up while we were there. Caty and Bernadine keep up with the house locally and were very responsive to anything we needed. They truly care for this property and are very proud of caring for the house. Where the house is located is very secluded and we felt very safe. If you want to stay on this side of the island this house offers a great value.

Summary: Sea, sun and years have left their mark on the house, garden, pool and interior. The pictures show a different standard. A floor plan of the house would be helpful, so you can see the layout of the individual, not interconnected rooms. It's not easy with kids. The house has a wonderful, idyllic location. Cathy and Bernardine were extremely friendly and helpful.

Summary: What a fabulous vacation! As we are writing, we are sitting pool side looking out over the spectacular ocean view of half moon bay. The house is very clean and the housekeeper Desiree is a delightful person who is excellent at her job and lovely to deal with. She provided us with plenty of advice on things to do on the island and arranged for an escort for us from the airport (which was important as we arrived after dark and the house is a long way from the airport). The reviews are correct that there is no need for air conditioning due to the ever-present sea breeze. You definitely need a car to get around. We had one person with disabilities and one with significant health concerns and the house met their needs perfectly, especially the extensive covered areas. The owner was incredibly responsive to my inquiries and helpful throughout the process. The house is lovely and tidy, the beds are comfortable, the linens smell amazing and fresh and we were extremely at home in the villa. Best of all it was a truly private holiday, we are not big fans of all inclusive resorts because of the lack of privacy. The beach at half moon bay is lovely with great snorkelling (reefs just off the beach with lots of tropical fish on view). The beach is a 10 minute walk down hill or a 2 minute drive. The kitchen is small but well stocked. Thanks for a wonderful holiday!
