Positive: Breakfast was a lovely display. Inside, fresh croissants and sliced bread were left on a small table in the carom billiards room. The same room had a small refrigerator, where juice, yogurt and fresh cut up fruit was placed for us. Butter pads were left out to soften on a table next to the refrigerator, and three different types of jams were on the same table. Insulated carafes of hot coffee and hot tea were left on the table with the place settings, on the balcony, for us to have breakfast when we wished. Everything was magically cleaned up by the time we returned from our daily explorations. Beautiful antiques decorated our bedroom, which had a portable air conditioner to keep us cool. The double sink bathroom with a bathtub was down the hallway. It had a full shower curtain and soap, shampoo and conditioner made in nearby Marseille. Major bonus was having a scrubbing sponge, after not finding the expected washcloth in any of the other hotels. At the end of the hallway, just past the bathroom, a door led to the big billiards room. There was an electric stand-up fan in that room. Two sets of windows in that room granted access to the balcony that overlooked the beautiful grounds. That is also where the short spiral staircase going down to our private entry door was. Insects flew in through the screen-less windows in the bathroom and billiards room but never landed on us or bothered us. The song of birds and the cicada symphony were background sounds that never disturbed. We rented a car that was always safe on the premises and allowed us to leave the secluded, tranquil, small, country mansion daily to drive 20 minutes into a public parking garage in the historic/old area, so we had the best of both worlds during our stay. Madame Dominique is a intelligent lady who gets by in English and is fluent in French, Spanish and other languages. Because there is no elevator, she allows luggage carrying through her main house to avoid stairs. Thank you, Dominique!
Negative: There is nothing we didn't like. Madame Dominique knows how to host.
Summary: We stayed in a charming place, had fresh breakfasts beautifylly set and slept soundly.
