Positive: Wow! We absolutely loved our stay at Sun Valley Hotel in Auffach. Booking.com lists it as a 3-star hotel, but honestly, it felt like a 5-star experience to us! The hotel has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing vacation. The swimming pool is amazing, especially with the stunning mountain views. There’s also a gym with beautiful scenery and a relaxing sauna—perfect after a day of exploring or hiking. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! There was a great variety of food, and everything was well-prepared. It was the perfect way to start each day. Our room was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. We especially appreciated the spacious bathroom, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional hospitality. The gentleman at the reception was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. He took the time to recommend beautiful places to visit in the area, and his local tips made our trip even more memorable. As a wonderful bonus, they even gave us a Wildschönau Premium Card, which allowed us to enjoy many attractions and activities in the area for free or at discounted prices. It added so much value to our trip and made exploring the beautiful Wildschönau region even more enjoyable. The entire hotel has a warm and relaxing atmosphere, and you can really tell that the staff cares about their guests. We felt at home from the moment we arrived until we checked out. This hotel is definitely worth every euro we spent. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, and we would happily come back again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Auffach—you won’t be disappointed!

Positive: Great Spa facilities. Fantastic Pool. Rooms were nice with decent beds.

Negative: No kettles in rooms and only after some discussion were we able to get a thermos flask to make tea and coffee after 9.30 in the morning. Otherwise, you will have to walk into town (10mins) to get a hot drink once the dinning area closes at 9.30. I think for English people this may seem odd, but maybe not for Austrian and Germans. We couldn't get the App to work when we arrived, which was 2 hours early, before we officially had the rooms. We spoke to the manager via phone and his solution was to just wait until reception opens in 2 hours (I was with a 12 year old and a 84 year old). Fortunately, one of the cleaners took pity on us and showed us where to store our bags, so we could walk into town (and get food and a hot drink) without carrying our suitcases with us.

Summary: Very good facilities but no kettles. Unhelpful management but helpful cleaners.
