Summary: Cap-aux-Oies was a perfect location from which to see all the sights during our stay in Charlevoix, Sept 10-23, 2022. The Cap-aux-Oies beach near the cottage was a daily favourite as were several nearby walking trails. The drive to Baie Ste. Catherine is beautiful; we went a few times to see the Belugas, and we also watched them off the Cap-aux-Oies Lighthouse beach. A particular favourite restaurant was “Kahlo” Mexican in Baie St. Paul. Highly recommended. We found the cottage very clean and the hosts were phenomenal; responsive and helpful. As seniors, we did not find the cottage offered us the amount of comfort and safety we would have wished for. The stairs both inside and out are steep and shallow, inside lighting is dim particularly over the table for meals and card games, and the downstairs is a musty and uncomfortable place to sleep, especially when the hide-a-bed is needed. The bathroom shower is tiny with no safety bars and the only bathroom is equipped with an RV toilet. We found the seating to be uncomfortable and the house is too dimly lit for reading at night. The cottage is well supplied for all daily needs.

Summary: Pros Owners/hosts are responsive. Clean house with a wonderful sun porch. In Le Malbaie is a great bakery - Pain D'exclamation. The chocolate croissants are heaven. Nearby in Les Eboulements is a wonderful restaurant for dinner, with great views and screened in outside seating - L'Authentique Auberge de Charlevoix. We were here in early August, and open windows with crisp, fresh air was a treat! Other than some light traffic going to the beach, it is quiet and peaceful. There is a beach at the end of the road that you can walk along. Situated halfway between Baie Saint Paul and La Malbaie. There is a lot to do nearby. You can see ships going up and down the St. Lawrence from the sun porch. Great music from the students at Domain Forget in Saint Irenee. Cons The shower is tiny and the steps into the basement are a bit steep. Pros definitely out weigh the cons and we would stay there again.

Summary: Charming classic cottage property that comes equipped with most everything that you could possibly need, including a ping pong table. There is a lovely beach at the end of the road (5 minute walk). You can walk forever on the beach at low tide. The location is only 20 minutes from La Malbaie and Baie-Saint-Paul and less than an hour to excellent mountain hiking. Annick was a very responsive host. P.S., there is a very shy cat that will appear from time to time on the back porch. He just wanted food, but not to be our friend.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay in the house, very friendly and available host. We didn't realize that the water in the region is too cold to swim in even on very hot days... definitely something to keep in mind if travelling with kids. Beautiful scenic routes and friendly people!

Summary: Honestly, the best experience we have ever had with VRBO! This house is charming, loaded with lovely thoughtful touches, and with lots of entertainment possibilities (games, ping pong etc). We absolutely loved the enclosed porch with an idyllic view of fields, cute homes and the St. Lawrence, and of course the goldfinches eating from the feeder right outside the window. Once outside, there are nice walks (just ask Steve!) and a picturesque beach a short walk away. This home was perfectly located in the most scenic part of Charlevoix, with easy access to loads of great activities. Thank you Annick and Steve for opening this home so that visitors can come and enjoy your Charlevoix! We will be back!

Summary: The house was just what we wanted. We spent each evening relaxing on the indoor enclosed porch. Each evening the deer would grazing on the field in front of the house. The kitchen met our needs as we had both breakfast and dinner at the house. One evening we visited the house of a neighbor down the river road who had made handcrafted models of the historic houses in the immediate area. It was in an excellent location to explore the Charlevioux area including the nearby island accessible by a free ferry, and the towns of Baie-Saint-Paul and Les-Eboulements. A great experience.
