Near beautiful Lake Annecy, this sunny 'maison bourgeoise annecienne' (a traditional 1920s style country house) is a treat all year round. In winter you're spoilt with excellent, typically Savoyard family ski resorts (La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand) nearby and Chamonix Mont Blanc or chic Megève an hour away. In summer, swim in pure lake waters, hike or cycle: this is an area of outstanding natural beauty, its colours glorious in spring and autumn. Watch horses grazing and sunsets over Annecy, with panoramic alpine vistas, through huge windows in the lounge-dining room. An archway leads to the well-equipped kitchen, where you'll be able to prepare delicious Savoyard specialities with the fresh local ingredients. Up the old oak staircase find stylish family bedrooms; the master with a great arched window for the views! Both have double and single beds, just ask if you need us to add a cot as well. Downstairs, there's a garden-facing double/twin, with WC opposite, ideal for older relatives and you'll find further sleeping options on double sofa beds in the lounge and on the lower ground floor.

Summary: The house did what it said on the tin, so far as we were concerned - comfortable, sizeable, easy. A beautiful view of mountains from the front terrace which we sat out on virtually every night. Comfortable beds, good showers, well equipped and just 10 minutes from the Lake Annecy beaches.

Summary: Beautiful house, very spacious and everything tiny thing was provided and more. Lovely large back garden with BBQ which we used several times even though it was New year ! Also stunning views from upstairs master bedroom and sitting on the front veranda in the New year sunshine, will always be a memorable holiday, thanks 😊

Summary: This is a truly beautiful home, with plenty of room for a family of four, plus 2 grandparents and family dog! The house was very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Having our dinner every night with stunning views of the mountains is pretty hard to beat! We also loved the sunny veranda at the front of the house, which became a regular spot for a relaxing drink and a read before cooking dinner. We were new to this part of France, and it didn’t disappoint! Annecy is just stunning! We spent lots of days around the lake - swimming and kayaking, and cycling around the lake is wonderful as parts of the route are on dedicated cycle paths. We had wonderful days out in Geneva and Lausanne too. There is so much to do in this area - and something for everyone, whether you want an active or a relaxing holiday! Sue, the owner was incredibly helpful beforehand, giving us information about the area, nearest restaurants and supermarkets etc. She also arranged a birthday cake for my son who became a teenager shortly after our arrival. We were very touched by this kind and thoughtful gesture. Michelle, the housekeeper is wonderful and keeps the house in tip top shape. She is very friendly and lives close by. The neighbours were very friendly too. We couldn’t fault our stay, and would definitely return to this wonderful characterful house. We had a fantastic family holiday!

Summary: This home had everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of space for everyone, great views from the living room and wonderful architectural details that made it really special. It was about 15 minutes to Annecy but had a couple of restaurants just minutes away. Owner communicated well and provided additional directions to the home. We would stay here again if we ever had the chance!

Summary: We are a family of 5 with older children 14/18/22. Maison Promery was perfect for us. We had everything we could have needed for a home from home feel. The house is set outside of Annecy and we enjoyed being out of the business after a day by the lake or in the town. The house is beautifully quirky and was well suited to our family needs. It is spacious allowing the kids to have their own rooms. The lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and the outside space is peaceful and you can find full sun or shade. The barbecue cooked well and we spent several evenings outside enjoying family meals. We took bikes with us and spent a lot of time cycling around different parts of the lake. We enjoyed being out in our kayak on the lake and swimming. We also enjoyed walking in the mountains. We did a beautiful walk to the waterfalls at Angon went up to admire the views of Mont Blanc at Semnoz. The town of Annecy is one of the prettiest places we have been to. It has a lovely atmosphere and great places to eat and enjoy an evening out. We were sorry that the Chateau de Clos in Promery was closed as we would have loved to try a meal there. We were blessed with mostly good weather but had a couple of rainy days which we managed to fill. Decathlon is just down the road and we can fill a few hours in there! My favourite moments of the holiday were sitting on the front terrace with a drink and a book. Sue made sure that we had everything that we needed and has been very helpful. Thanks Sue for a lovely holiday.

Summary: We had a wonderful stay in Promery with our three small children. We enjoyed cracking thunderstorms, triple rainbows over the stunning view from the home and wonderful, hot weather. We even had a hot air balloon fly close over the home on our very last day. Very close to many wonderful scenic locations. I think our favorite was the Gorges Du Fier which was about 15 mins away and had a stunning walkway attached to the cliff walls of the gorge. Sue was so helpful and managed to acquire toys for our kids to play with during our 2 week stay. There were even soft toys for my three kids to snuggle at night. There were so many small details added especially for our kids that it really made them feel so at home, and our stay very relaxed. The housekeeper even bought over outdoor recliners too and she was available if we needed her at all. She even came by on the last day and let the children keep some cars which was so kind. FYI to parents who want to visit, the main lounge/connected kitchen have doors to prevent babies accessing the stairwells so no baby gates necessary at the main level. It is also easy to block the door to the front porch so you can leave the front, glass doors open. The bedroom in the basement is most suited for teens or young adults. The washer dryer is one unit, not separate machines. This was fine for us as we had hot weather and used the clothes line outback. A wonderful home and a fabulous stay. Thank you for all of your effort to make us feel so welcome.
