Positive: Beautiful views, had the pleasure of daily visits from the sheep, pigs and deer, locals were very friendly and helpful. House is stunning, very homely for all the family. Would definitely revisit. We visited Castle Croft which was great fun too.

Positive: We wanted somewhere close to nature we should share time with family, and this seemed an ideal choice. The accommodation was excellent and well equipped next to National Trust land. Abundance of birds, and we saw the sheep and lambs right outside daily. The master bedroom is extremely spacious with a balcony. Unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to use it though. The wood burner in the separate lounge takes a long time to heat this large room, but once warm, it was a very comfortable place to watch the huge TV in the evening together. Most locations in the property had good WiFi reception but not in the second double bedroom (we didn't use the bunk room so don't know about reception there) The kitchen lounge diner was where we spent most of the time and in better weather being able to have the doors open onto the outdoor seating area would have been great. Everything was top quality! Yarpole village shop and community pub are both excellent, and Croft Castle is just down the track and well worth a visit. For walkers it's possible to make a cross country walk into the village. Highly recommend
Negative: Beware the long rough track to the property drive very slowly! The garden area has steep steps, so it is not suitable for toddlers or those with mobility problems. The pigs that live on the common are unpredictable, and one made a nasty unprovoked attack on our 2 year old granddaughter. Thank goodness she was wearing several layers otherwise she would have needed a visit to A&E in Hereford. Just be very vigilant if they're around. Details from Sykes differed to that from Booking.com, and although it told us to take our own cot bedding and tea towels both were provided.
