It also has enough privacy for a great family getaway or options for renting multiple cottages with a larger group. The front door is 300 feet away from the bluff and then only 40 steps down to the beach!
Sunset Beach Cottages is a peaceful and private Lake Michigan setting with a breathtaking view of Lake Michigan and a pristine sandy beach. We are conveniently located in the Muskegon area, but tucked away in a private setting with miles of beachfront at the bottom of the bluff.
Our 6, 1-4 bedroom cottages are close enough together to be rented in groups for family reunions and other types of get togethers, yet far enough apart to provide for your own privacy. The setting is perfect for both family gatherings as well as your own private getaway vacation. There is plenty of space, both inside the cottages, and on the well maintained grass covered grounds. Our private beach has some of the finest beach sand in the world, plus the soothing sounds of waves lapping on the shoreline make for an enjoyable and relaxing time.

Summary: Excellent location for the beach, a great museum, and Michigan Adventure. It was easy to get to the beautiful beach in front of the property and an easy drive to other great beaches as well. Property owner was easy to communicate with and responded promptly. Nice area for kids and outdoor toys for them to use. Great sunsets!

Summary: We rented the farmhouse for 1 week: 3 couples, and our 2 kids. It was a reunion of best friends. The location was great: short walk across well-groom grounds to stairs to a beautiful and private stretch of beach. They house was very nice, especially the large screened-in porch! That was the best part of the house because it was large enough for all of us to sit and eat, visit, play cards, or have morning coffee. House was well appointed for what we needed. Internet worked great thankfully because there is no cell coverage in that area. Really good restaurants nearby, as well as grocery stores and pharmacies. We will definitely consider coming back! Definitely worth it!

Summary: The owners of the property were great to deal with and very responsive to messages and gave us their number to talk to personally. The area is beautiful and just as described. The lake was a shorter walk than anticipated so that was nice. I can’t complain about anything because if you read their description, I think everything is mentioned, but it is hard that sheets and towels are not included as part of the accommodations as I don’t think everyone traveling has access to these without an extra cost at the store. The only other thing that was odd was that you have to walk through the other properties to get tot he lake and some of the other guests were having dinner outside when we did so, so it felt intrusive to be walking within feet of their front doors. Wish that there was another path off to the side that was not through the other properties. Otherwise, we have nothing bad to say and would definitely recommend these guys. Again, the properties are beautiful and the owners make it worth it with their great responsiveness and communication. We would love to stay with them again in the future.

Summary: We enjoyed our stay at Sunset cottage #1, it had plenty of room for our family of 8. The house was nicely cleaned when we arrived. Everyone loved the lake access. My other complaints are that they dryer wasn’t getting hot and the house smelled a little like mildew. We would definitely go back and stay again. The owners do a great job maintaining the property

Summary: Our family had a wonderful time staying on this property. Beach access and views from the bluff were top notch. Our kids enjoyed the swing set area as well as the waves in Lake Michigan! The property is in a remote area in Muskegon. Groceries and other necessities were not far. We would come back to Muskegon for sure. This property shares beach access and some common spaces with other units, and an FYI for families with young children, this particular unit is a little farther from the common spaces, so the sunset may not always be possible with early bedtimes.
