Located on the north east side of Cayuga Lake where a day trip to Ithaca, Auburn or Seneca Falls are each convenient – this family home will leave you with captivating views and fond memories. Celebrate the Finger Lakes with a getaway at Sweet Retreat!
Enter this three bedroom home through the open kitchen. Ample counter space and cupboards stocked with cooking and bakingware make meal time a breeze! A four person high top is available for an “eat in” kitchen feel.
Lakeside windows offer a beautiful natural light into the living and formal dining room areas. Warm, natural wood textures are complimented by the cool blue sofa in the living area, and accent rug in the dining area.
Around the corner, a sitting area is available for curling up with a book, or plugging in to your laptop if you're not able to sneak away from work during your getaway.
Upstairs, each of the three bedrooms can be found. Offering sleeping arrangements for seven, this cozy home is the perfect family getaway! Whether you're in the master bedroom and have a private balcony and lake views, or you're in one of the two bedrooms to the east, and have a garden view, a relaxing and comforting feeling makes you feel at home.
Outside a lakeside deck off the main living area offers a patio set and barbeque grill. While you're packing, don't forget your favorite yard games – a flat yard is available for you to run and play each day throughout your stay.
Located on the east side of Cayuga Lake, Sweet Retreat is within 10 miles of Seneca Falls. Be sure to check out how Seneca Falls, which is widely believed to be the inspiration for the town in the movie, “It's A Wonderful Life.” Within close proximity you will also find Waterloo Premium Outlets, where you can spend the afternoon enjoying Finger Lakes shopping and dining.

Summary: My family booked this home after it checked our boxes for a centralized location to visit our family and friends in Central and Western NY, and space for some restorative down time. We were pleased with the property and what it offered. Our group of 5 adults and 1 infant fit comfortably with room to spread out. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils to prepare and enjoy meals with the lake view. We would book this place again.

Summary: Water can get rough during storms. Deck needs some boards replaced and the apple tree it attracts a lot of bees. The house itself was very nice and close to many amenities shopping, parks etc.

Summary: The home is well maintained and clean. The house has a/c which was unexpected. May have recently been upgraded. The wifi/internet access was horrible. With only one TV in the house, it should be upgraded. The steps going to the 2nd floor are a bit steep and could be an issue for some as there is no toilet upstairs. Green space at lake front was great. There was like an underwater beach area. All the large rocks were removed so it was easy to walk around in the water. There is some lake grass floating around so bring a small rake. An elevated train track in front of the home is still active, but train only comes by twice a day. Kids will enjoy counting the cars as it passes. Grocery store in Auburn is 15 minutes away. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will probably rent again in the future.

Summary: Well stocked kitchen.. very clean cottage. The only things that were bothersome was the very musty smell with air conditioning and the sewage smell outdoors.

Summary: Our family enjoyed the stay. We stayed just a long weekend. The weather was great which added to our enjoyment of the property. Enjoyed the wineries and had a great dinner at fall 84 in Seneca falls. The tunnel was a little challenging w our kayaks. But we took them off b4 and walked them to the house. Lake views and sunsets are spectacular. Not a great swimming area - too much sea weed Enjoyed the deck and yard for some good corn hole games. House and kitchen well stocked. Great house and stay. Ty for sharing.
