Positive: Our family trip to Tantawan Tented Camp was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we had stepped into a hidden sanctuary in the Chiang Rai hills. The villa itself was stunning — spacious and airy, with high canvas ceilings, warm teak furnishings, and a large veranda that opened up to sweeping views of the valley. The private setting made it feel like we had our own secluded retreat in nature. On our very first night, we were lucky enough to watch a lunar eclipse from our veranda, which made the experience even more magical and something our family will always remember. The hospitality was exceptional. We were greeted warmly by the manager, Susana, who made us feel right at home. The staff paid close attention to every detail of our stay — from providing a phone for each villa so we could easily reach them, to promptly transporting us around the property by golf cart whenever we needed. We also enjoyed riding bikes around the camp, which was a wonderful way to explore the peaceful surroundings together as a family. Breakfast at Reu Doon Gaan was another highlight. We loved starting our mornings with fresh, flavorful dishes made with local ingredients, while enjoying the beautiful open-air setting. Tantawan Tented Camp gave us the perfect balance of seclusion, luxury, and heartfelt hospitality, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special experience in Chiang Rai.

The beds are extremely comfortable, and every detail, from the amenities to the overall design, has been crafted to perfection. The quality of the tents is exceptional—completely secure and well-sealed, meaning we didn’t encounter a single insect inside. What really sets this place apart, however, is the staff. We have never been welcomed with such warmth and genuine friendliness. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, always ready to assist with any request. Their attention to detail, especially regarding food allergies, was remarkable—they really walked the extra mile to ensure we had safe and delicious meals. The team was always cheerful, smiling, and incredibly kind to our baby, making us feel like part of a family rather than just guests. The resort offers a variety of activities, making it an ideal place for nature lovers and adventurers. There are multiple guided hikes where a knowledgeable staff member accompanies you, sharing insights about the surrounding villages, mountains, rice fields, and local traditions. Positive: The site is beautiful, lost in the middle of the wild lush nature of the North. The tent was huge, unbelievably luxurious and comfortable. Service was absolutely perfect, staff was thoughtful, helpful and available beyond reason. The food was amazing, the chef loves to share his passion, and you can taste it. Visama Mae Chan could well be one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. And I’ve seen a few 😏 Overall a wonderful experience we didn’t want to end.
