Positive: Our stay at Te Konaku was probably the highlight of our 2 weeks in Albania. The location is beautiful and very peaceful. The room and balcony was stunning with views down the river in both directions. Food was fantastic - breakfast and freshly caught fish the stand out. It was tough to find information about how to get to the Shala River area from Valbone on the internet, but Alex was an excellent host and helped us organise it. Great place to recover if considering Theth-Valbone hike. Boats to/from can be arranged in morning and afternoon. We relaxed, read books, floated in the lake, walked to a lookout and kayaked to Shala River (25 mins). The Shala River was beautiful but it was nice to return to the peace and warmer water of the lake by Te Konaku after a few hours. Cannot recommend more highly. Alex and his Dad were great hosts and we can’t wait to return to this special place!

Positive: Very clean room with comfortable bed and balcony looking to the Shala river. The location is amazing, right in the middle of nature, peaceful and quiet. Owners are very kind and always ready to help. Food is homemade with fresh local products, really delicious. Perfect place to relax and also feel a bit of adventure.

Positive: The place is absolutely spectacular, with a beautiful view and surrounded by nature. For me, it was perfectly located: away from restaurants and the tourists in Shala River, yet only a few minutes away by boat. The accommodation is new, and you can truly see the effort and dedication they’re putting into it. Alex is very kind and and was helpful the whole time. He guided us on a small hike for an even more spectacular view. Definitely recommend, 100%!.
Negative: There was only one salt shaker, but I'm sure they've got more by now 😅

The room was spotless and carefully arranged, with a stunning view of the lake right from the window. Waking up every morning to the sound of nature and such a view felt like living inside a painting. The staff was very welcoming, always helpful and kind. The hotel itself has a warm atmosphere, beautifully built with stone and wood, keeping a traditional touch while providing modern comfort. It’s the perfect place to relax, disconnect from everyday noise, and fully enjoy nature. I would 100% recommend it and can’t wait to come back! 💚

Positive: I highly recommend staying at Te Konaku. The location and views are truly exceptional, the best of any hotel we saw along the lake. It’s just a 5-minute trip to the famous Shala River swimming spot, yet the hotel itself is in a peaceful, quiet setting that’s perfect for relaxing. The owner even guided us on a short hike behind the hotel, which rewarded us with stunning views of the lake. We also took a trip along the lake in one of the hotel’s kayaks, and it was absolutely amazing! When we visited, the hotel had only recently opened to the public. While a few details were still being finalized, nothing was missing from our experience, we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay.

You can really see how much hard work has gone into creating this accommodation, and it was so special hearing about their journey so far and the exciting plans still to come. We originally came to see Shala River (just a 5 min free boat ride away) but we actually enjoyed Komani Lake more! The water is a comfortable temperature to swim in and the surroundings are stunning. The free breakfast was fresh and delicious and we also had dinner (pork, fried vegetables and potatoes), which was so delicious too. Having free kayaks, sunbeds, and the shuttle service to Shala River made our stay even better. Alex is such a wonderful host, so kind and welcoming 😊 This was such a memorable experience, and we’re so glad we chose to stay here. Highly recommend!

Positive: This place is like heaven on earth!! So so beautiful! We were lucky to be the first visitor because it just opened recently. They let us feel so welcome and at home, Alexander (the owner) helped us with anything we needed and more! He got us boat to the place (you can only get there by boat) and was so kind and sweet!! We really recommend coming to this place it was honestly the most beautiful place we have even been at.
