Positive: Gabriela was very helpful and waited for us a little longer when we were running late to check in. The apartment on the top floor (which we rented) was very clean, comfortable and spacious. It has two bedrooms; one with two twin beds and the other with a queen bed. Since there isn't any heating, the blankets they provide are VERY warm and comfy. Never got cold overnight, but the morning was a bit chilly. There is a courtyard with awesome mural and seating areas to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Also, a very large open air patio on top that overlooks the Pyramid of the Sun. We really enjoyed watching the hot air balloons floating over the pyramids in the morning. There is free parking, but we didn't have a car. There is a market about a 10-minute walk up the street near the old church. Also a pizzeria nearby, which we tried, and it was very good. A beauty salon 500' away but didn't go there. As far as the walk to the closest entrance to the pyramids, it was only about 15 minutes and its the best way to see the surrounding area. The brick sidewalk the entire was nice so you could ride a bike if you wanted to. We purchased tickets online and arrived around 9am. Hardly anyone there and got to enjoy the area without lots of tourists. Then around 12-1pm, it started getting really crowded. Since about 3-4 hours is all, you really need, we left and enjoyed other parts of the town.

Negative: We loved the decor in the apartment but would prefer not having to eat off handmade pottery plates and bowls. They tend to trap bacteria in the pores of the ceramic. So, regular plates and bowls would be preferred. Would love to have some blackout curtains or blinds in the front windows (upstairs apartment) to provide privacy. I would suggest some small table lamps near the beds and in the living room. You only have the lights in the ceiling, and it was annoying and too bright. Other than that, we loved the place!!

Positive: The rooftop terrace had a beautiful view of the pyramid of the sun. We watched the early morning balloons as the ascended across the skyline to the north. Nice artwork on the walls also.

Negative: Slight smell from what appeared to be a wastewater treatment plant nearby. But only noticeable in the morning.

Positive: We were really pleased we chose to stay next to the site. The house is well located for access to the pyramids: it takes about 20 min on foot to reach them. Uber works great in the area, we used it to visit the local village, too and it was great help as the taxi numbers offered by the host didnt’ have availability. The apartment was well equipped, the kitchen had everything: a couple of tea bags, coffee, some water. The fridge also had drinks for purchase which we didn’t use. There were all necessary utensils provided, glasses, plates, a stove if you wanted to cook. The place was very clean, with two bedrooms and a dining/sitting room. Finally, the morning view from the terrace on top was great! Wake up before sunrise and come to see hot air balloons hovering above! During the day, you can see the top of the Pyramid of the Sun.

Negative: It was exceptionally cold. The house is built of concrete, with no heaters. We were literally shivering and had to wear coats inside the house. The hot water was a bit temperamental, not a big deal, though. The level of disturbance was higher than would allow for a peaceful rest. The terrace on top had some heavy chairs or tables that were moved by the guests using it in the evening when we tried to sleep and the sound travelled easily. During the day, when the cleaners come to clean, they are quite noisy, too. If one tries to rest between the sightseeing, it is challenge in as cleaners talk loudly, listen to their music, something is being drilled and something else being sawed. As i say, this is a village and the village life has its sounds. Not dramatic, but would wish for more consideration for the guests from the staff. Finally, when i was sitting outside and a cleaner was doing the steps, she just splashed water on me from the top!

Summary: Nice house but needs more attention to the guests comfort

Positive: Cozy room and wonderful location with the spectacular view. Spending time on the roof-top balcony at night to watch stars and in the morning to view pyramids and balloons was amazingly pleasant. The whole experience was awesome.

Negative: Adjusting shower temperature was not easy, but I understand the difficulty in water management in the region located at high altitude.
