Summary: A slightly odd hotel stuck in a time warp. A large free car park at the rear and a very jolly Manageress who was lovely. The hotel is old but had new bathrooms, the bed was a bit to soft for me. It is on a main road but has double glazing. There is a huge brightly lit restaurant food was good but a little expensive

Summary: This hotel is in a great location, just steps away from their beautiful Church. There was some kind of mix-up with the room reservation...I am a solo traveler, yet had to take a room enough for a family of 6. The picture of the hotel is slightly deceptive...the outside is picturesque...the inside is quite another story...in dire need of a much needed makeover...shabby wall paper is colorless...the carpet is threadbare...the paint is nonexistent...the food, however, is very good.

Summary: This hotel is within walking distance to any of the places you want to see in Lisieux-- the basilica, Carmel, etc. The bed was old and small for two people. One person for the bed would be OK. Very pleasant staff. We ate dinner at the restaurant. The meal was fantastic. You should plan to eat dinner here. A lot of locals were there, so the restaurant obviously enjoys a good reputation. Overall, a very pleasant stay.

Summary: A basic but very friendly and comfortable Logi. The owner helpfully changed my room from the front to the back as I thought the front, on a fairly Main Street, would be noisy. The room I had was more basic but totally adequate and very quiet. The evening meal was excellent.

Summary: I feel comfortable here trying out my French. The owners and waitress are laid back, I guess the 'chauvinistic French' stereotype doesn't apply out here in Lisieux. Very family-friendly for example, owner helped toddler carry suitcase, and when juice was spilt, new one was brought, no big deal. Good for families visiting Basilica, walking only 5 minutes uphill with toddler is great. Eating in restaurant is very entertaining. Not just hotel guests, also locals. Good regional cuisine. Be sure to ask what is on your salad though: salade pays d'auge turned out to have fried liver on it!

Summary: We came back to Family Room 16 on the third floor which is on the street side. Two single beds and one double. Box springs I think. Bathroom has shower just big enough for mom and toddler together. Big window opens for ventilation, with blackout curtains. You can see Basilica up the hill. Even though some hotel facilities are dated (and no elevator) the perfect hospitality more than makes up for it. Dinner is typically French, definitely try the Normandy crepe and coq cidre, but remember that if you want vegetables be sure to order crudités because while you get potatoes in whichever form the chef decides that day, no warm veg is served. The owners' niece was our waitress and she was impeccable in service etiquette. Breakfast booked separately is worth the €9 especially if you are a big coffee drinker, order cafe au lait and jus d'orange after choosing a seat. Large croissant and baguette with jams, Camembert, Chèvre, fresh fruit, yogurt and cereal. Free shaded off-street parking behind the hotel. Also free wifi.
