Positive: The staff were wonderful, and the location is right on the river. We had excellent massages at the property, and the breakfast was very good. It is a lovely place, with a very serene and pleasant environment.
Negative: The bed is a mattress on a raised floor, so it was difficult to get up from.
Summary: It was a beautiful stay, and easy to go out to see monks giving blessings along the canal at sunrise. The staff were lo

Positive: This is my second time staying here and it's unbeatable. The rooms are wooden and beautiful, clean, comfortable, and quiet. Bed is soft with many comfy pillows, and the bathroom is fully equipped with a good shower and full range of toiletries. Breakfast is also in a gorgeous and cozy space overlooking the river. For the price, the full experience here is pretty unbeatable.
Negative: No electrical plugs beside the bed unfortunately. While the breakfast variety and quality is great, note that it is more Thai i.e. rice and noodles, with the Western options being limited to eggs and sausages, toast, and salad.
Summary: Will only ever stay in this hotel in Amphawa

Positive: Absolutely amazing location right on the river. This area truly takes you back a 100 years and lets you slow down a little bit. We only stayed for one night but the hotel helped us and organised a private boat trip to see the fireflies. We then had a beautiful dinner in the hotel's restaurant. Next morning we woke up early and gave food to monks passing by between 6 and 6.30 in the morning. Real cultural experience. Location is great, very close to floating markets. There's few in the area so depending on the day of the week (or the time of the day) you can choose which one to visit. As far as the stay in this particular part of Thailand goes, this hotel is probably one of the best choices you can make.
Negative: It's minor but the hotel restaurant doesn't serve alcohol. We were allowed to buy and bring some in from a shop nearby but it would have been nice to have a cocktail or 2 whilst soaking up the amthospehere.
