Summary: This was a last minute reservation for my family reunion which had to be relocated, and it worked out well for us. We appreciated Jane’s hospitality, and the lake is very lovely. The 70s decor is fun, but the shag carpet and musty-smelling leather sofa were not ideal for family members with asthma & allergies. The property could use updating and the screens need cleaning to enjoy the views, but if you are looking for a relaxed and fun host, this is the place. Jane even invited the children out for some tubing behind her boat, which was very kind and generous.

Summary: Our group of ten adults loved this cottage! There was plenty of seating, room for cooking, and sleeping space. We used the deck over the boat house all weekend, and many of use utilized the sauna. We loved swimming around the dock and taking out the paddle boat. Unfortunately, it rained both nights so we weren't able to have a fire, but with ample seating inside, we had game nights and cooked together in the kitchen instead. We loved the 70's theme of the cabin and had so much fun discovering the music selection in the cabin. (There's a cd player in the sauna so we highly recommend blasting some 70's tunes while you're relaxin in there). Jane was really helpful and came over to drop off toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap. Great times! We all want to come back!

Summary: The house had an incredible location with a beautiful view of the lake and 2 boats we used on the lake. The owners Jane and Jim were so helpful and super chill. The only issue I can think of is that the house didn’t have central A/C, so the main level was always pretty warm, but the basement had great air and the third level had an A/C unit that did a great job of cooling down the upstairs. Overall it was a great stay.

Summary: Our group of 18 friends absolutely loved our two night stay here! There was a bed for everyone to sleep comfortably. The cottage itself was more outdated, but it was as expected before booking so there were no surprises. We thought the place was so charming and it really grew on us. The house is stocked with a lot of things you may need for cooking, cleaning, extra bedding, and towels. Two full kitchens and 3 1/2 bathrooms made the stay a breeze for us all, without have to wait for everyone to take a turn using everything. Outside in the "boat house/shed" there are many lake toys/floaties AND a sauna that is awesome after a dip in the lake. Our most favorite part about our experience at this 70's cottage is the host Jane!! Nothing but great things to say about her. She is the sweetest soul on the entire planet and I hope many people get to experience her kindness. We didn't even realize we left some things behind and Jane reached out to us for an address to send the items back to us! We are just so blown away by her. Please be nice and respectful to everyone around you if you decide to stay here. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone especially if you want to try something different and fun.

Summary: We are a family group of ten who enjoyed a great vacation. The lake was beautiful and accessible. Perfect water temperature and perfect weather didn't hurt either! We boated, bicycled, and swam. Two kitchens and a grill allowed us to cook to our hearts' content. The hosts, right next door, were very kind and accommodating.

Summary: As noted in the listing, this is unabashedly a 70s lake front cottage in the woods. If you remember the era, the lighting and the decor made rooms seem relatively dark so if you're expecting an IKEA look than this might not work for you. However it worked quite well for our nine individuals. The walkout basement apartment was nice for one part of our family. The kitchens were clean and well stocked and the dining area could easily accommodate all of us. It also served as a great craft area for the kids. However best of all was the sitting/eating area on the roof of the boat dock overlooking Big Cedar lake with wonderful sunsets and a place where adults could watch the kids play in the lake below. Although there is no beach, there is a pier that leads out into the lake with several boats available to use. The most fun was a huge floating mat out on the water that everyone could climb on and jump off etc. Our kids and grandkids couldn't get enough of that. The lake was great and the water warm and inviting. Our host, Jane, couldn't have been nicer. She was very gracious, gave us a good orientation to the cottage, enjoyed the children, introduced them to frogs in a little pond by the house, and after insistence by the kids, brought out her pet snake for them to touch. Small fish in the lake were plentiful and always eager to snap up a worm that the kids would offer them. The kids couldn't have been happier. The 70s cottage was a great family place for us especially if you have kids who love the water.
