Positive: The room was comfortable and spacious with easy access to the beach. There were plenty of amenities that I used and would have used more if it had been a longer stay.

Negative: The check in was a bit confusing as I requested an early check in but never received a confirmation or rejection of the request.

Summary: Overall I would recommend, and I would stay again.

Positive: Off the beaten-track. A decent sized and clean room. Facilities for self-catering, including a hob, microwave oven, fridge-freezer and a kitchen sink. Comfortable beds. A peaceful location because we were the only residents. It was lovely to be able to wake up and enjoy a morning stroll to a deserted beach. There are amenities at the western end of the island & a Dollar General store across from The Beacon. Enjoyed a natter with the hostess

Positive: The beach was close. The bed was comfortable. Owner and staff were nice enough.

Negative: Well, the freezer hadn’t been thawed, the coffee pot was only 6 cup, there were not enough accessible electric outlets, lighting was horrible! Lipstick marks on coffee cup, roach in bathroom, turn on light and it was strobing effect. The ac dripped water into the kitchen trashcan all night like water torture. Insufficient stocked kitchenette. Entire outside area was just wrong- poor astroturf and a nasty lounge area with weirdly placed swings that are unusable. The walkway to beach was downright treacherous with bowed wood, poor rails, steep stairs. However, kudos to the old trees and foliage. I think the clientele they are used to dealing with are okay with the place, and I guess it was okay for the price.

Summary: Overall, I felt gross when I left there. I’d say it’s a second- rate fleabag motel.

Positive: Comfortable accommodations, close to the beach, many amenities ( grill, games etc). We liked the fact we were able to make our own meals and weren't forced to eat out all the time, we ate out just for a treat. Look forward to staying again, only longer next time. Very friendly staff.
