Positive: In a great setting. Close to where we needed to visit. Hot air balloon festival . Breakfast was delicious . Staff were lovely.
Negative: I would say a was a little pricey for the room , inflated prices due to demand for the festival

Positive: The layout of the room was nice and the staff we did meet were very friendly. The addition of oat milk sachets in the room was a thoughtful touch. The number of cushions on the bed was great and the shower seemed powerful. It was appreciated that an iron and ironing board were provided. The property was easy to find and we were able to get an Uber to and from Bristol to there. We struggled to get a local taxi firm and had to pay a little extra for the Ubers in order to get to and from a wedding at nearby Chew Lake. The location is excellent - being opposite a local cooperative and the local cafe was lovely.
Negative: We only received one visit from housekeeping who provided with a few bits that we requested and who explained there were staffing issues. We were told that it would be daily - we weren’t looking for much but it would’ve been appreciated to have the bin emptied, a top up of milks and perhaps a replacement towel given the number of days we were staying. It felt like we’d been forgotten. The bed was incredibly firm - and there was a lot of noise from 5am onwards. The blind in our room was in need of repair so we had to manually step up to sort it. While the bathroom was pretty, the double doors to the bathroom kept getting stuck and it was difficult to open them with ease. They ran out of a few things in the kitchen but the food we did have for breakfast was nice and I appreciated the chef being able to put together a vegan option. The menu in the evening was detailed; although would’ve appreciated some salad or vegetables with the burgers (as it was very beige). These may sound trivial things but given the price we paid and it being listed as 5 star - we had higher expectations for the visit.

Positive: The staff were really lovely, we were staying over my birthday and my husband had arranged with the staff to bring me a little birthday cake at breakfast and sang happy birthday, it was very sweet! We got a really good price, and is a really great spot between Bristol and Bath. Lovely area, with a lovely little walk nearby. The room itself was lovely with tea and coffee making facilities. I would recommend staying here for sure.
Negative: The doors to the bathroom were very loud when you opened them with automatic lights that come on when you walk in, so not ideal if you need the loo in the middle of the night without waking your partner up. The shower head (not the main one but the 2nd one) didn't stay up on its own so I had to hold it which was a bit annoying. The pillows were a bit thin.
Summary: Great stay, perfect for between Bristol and Bath!

Positive: Great location for visiting Chew Valley Animal Park and reservoir. Food was excellent.
Negative: Room had a few things which didn’t work or were poorly maintained, fan which was essential in such a warm room was very dirty.

Positive: The pub inn lovely friendly food we had well cooked and presented well. The room had modern facilities and the shower was excellent. The staff and management made the stay memorable and will be booking again.

Negative: Our room was smaller than our last stay with an open plan room and shower so no privacy. The room was unbearably hot which made it hard to sleep.
