Positive: Location was good. Private parking was great. Nice clean rooms.
Negative: Service was slow at dinner, waited a long time to order dinner. When we finally got to place our order, we was told the food we wanted was not available.

Negative: The room was very hot.. there was a fan which was useful. Luckily we had brought our own fan too. Arrangements for payment was a bit haphazard.

Positive: I liked the single bedroom, breakfast wss lovely and the bar for cold drinks. The Black Lion is also very central.
Negative: The service in the restaurant was very bad. I arrived at 6.30 pm (the time I had booked earlier) and was sat in the bar area not the restaurant. I was told I would have to wait for my order because there was a table of 20 but then I was left and not attended to. The tv came on with the tennis and I was seated under the TV so I moved. I was then ushered into the restaurant. The soup and roll arrived quickly which was delicious. Fish and Chips followed which was good. Then I was left and left and left. The table of 20 had departed. Still nobody asked me if I would like a desert. So I asked if any one was likely to serve me. There was confusion so I decided I had had enough and left. 10% was taken off my bill. It was a horrible experience and made me feel invisible and a second class customer as waitresses kept walking passed me and ignoring me. The restaurant was exceptionally busy which was hard for staff but more staff were needed.

Negative: It was a small room, so very hot and stuffy, no where to put things apart from two tiny bedside tables, no where to put toiletries in the bathroom, a low shower flow. Poor choice at breakfast, no plain yogurt, no muesli or berries and disappointing that you had to pay for anything other than Little Lion breakfast, (but very well cooked scrambled eggs) Coffee machine was erratic, we would prefer a cafetiere.
Summary: A convenient location but lacked some room facilities and did not cater for diverse food preferences
