Welcome to our blue-tiful Blue Llama vacation rental located at the heart of Nelson County in Nellysford, Virginia. Inspired by the color of of the house, the Blue Ridge mountains and our neighbors llamas, the Blue Llama is a fun and modern home situated in a beautiful rural setting.
Our newly built home is the perfect place to escape to the mountains and enjoy a relaxing getaway with family or friends. With its rustic charm, colorful interior and stunning natural surroundings, this property is sure to enchant and delight guests.
The interior of the house is bright and welcoming, with comfortable furnishings and plenty of open spaces to congregate and relax. The living room features a plush sofa and 65" TV and is open to our fully equipped chef-kitchen (equipped with 3 ovens). This part of the home is a perfect place to lounge around after a long day of hiking, skiing at Wintergreen Resort, or brewery hoping along the Brew Ridge Trail.

Summary: Simply adorable!!! This cabin is tastefully decorated, spacious but cozy. There is an incredible amount of natural light which our family loves, it has everything one needs from the most essential things to the least. It’s neat, and clean and well situated. Last but not least the host is an exceptional, kind, willing, and always available person thus been an integral part to our positive experience.

Summary: As a first time VRBO, I was not disappointed! The pictures don’t do this place justice. Beautifully decorated with artsy flare, clean, organized. We even had a welcoming party of bunnies and deers to great us. A great place to escape for truly peace and quiet.

Summary: What a fun and functional place to stay and explore all that Nellysford has to offer! The Blue Llama was such a comfortable and colorful creature lace to call home while we hiked and enjoyed the local libations. Everywhere we went was child and dog friendly. Some of our highlights were the Black Bear Creamery and Bold Rock Cidery (which we could walk to from a Kids Park/trail). We hiked the AT and had an all around wonderful holiday!

Summary: This was a perfect location for our “girls weekend.” It was spotless and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The kitchen window could use a shade for early morning sun, but it wasn’t a problem. We loved everything about it - especially the clever decor. Thanks.

Summary: We had a group of 10 family members get together for a chill weekend. The decor of the house was so fun and a perfect setting for us to take advantage of Rte 151 breweries, wintergreen activities, and blue ridge hiking. We were able to fit so much in without feeling rushed. The memory foam beds were lovely and the giant windows made for great morning views.

Summary: We absolutely loved staying at the Blue Llama. The decorating was fun and whimsical and the openness of the kitchen/family/room/dining room was truly fabulous in accommodating our group of 10 people. There were amazing views from both the kitchen and the family room. We had intended to visit many breweries/wineries because they were so close, but we had so much fun hiking Lower Shamokin Trail (trail head was right down the road), playing games around the outdoor fire pit, hanging out watching football in the family room and board games in the dining room, that we only did one quick run to Devil's Backbone during the 3.5 days we were there. Brendan was also a tremendous host, providing all the information we needed prior to our trip and answering my many questions. Thanks for a great getaway!!

Summary: The house was immaculate. The owners met our every need when they furnished the house and set up the kitchen. They also added many details that other owners seldom consider, e.g, poop bags for this pet-friendly house! The owner was very attentive with a welcome note and a quick response to every question. Of course, art is in the eye of the beholder, but we found the decor engaging, fun, and it left us wanting to meet the owners! We are planning another stay in the spring.
