Negative: Sofas were uncomfortable need replacing. Springs gone.

Positive: Interesting conversion of old farm building with ingenious use of a small space. Kitchen was very well equipped (though didn't find a colander) and property was very clean. A welcome basket with a bottle of wine and biscuits was generous.

Negative: After a long hot journey it would have been nice to find hand wash in the bathrooms. A bit of a tight squeeze to get in and out of kitchen seating.

Summary: An interesting property and location. Pity the weather turned windy and wet

Positive: The location was very good, great base for South Lakes. Property was as described and very good value.

Negative: Nothing major but the sofa cushions kept sliding off the base as shape has obviously changed over time.

Positive: Really comfortable beds with lots of great linen and extras. A boot tray for muddy boots. Lots of plug sockets. Beautifully decorated/designed. Lots of towels and loo roll. Kitchen has most of what you want including a dishwasher. Super location. Really near the New Inn which does great meals. Ideal location for super walks round Nature Reserves and Silverdale generally. Online delivery from Sainsbury worked well. Comfortable sofa and decent TV.

Negative: Clock not working, dirty roof lights, deeply encrusted filter in cafetiere with grounds lurking in the jug part. A delonghi coffee maker that was so in need of descaling that light was permanently on and coffee from it tasted dreadful. Only two teabags on arrival, no milk or milk alternatives. No washing up liquid or soap. It was hard to get answers to messages in advance and access details didn't arrive automatically . . . Apparently this problem of communications when Cottages.com and Airbnb hand over to Booking.com is well known . . . so you just have to ring the landline number as local mobile network apparently variable! Persevere and so long as you don't mind a few aspects of neglect because owners are busy doing other things, you will have a lovely time.

Positive: Very cosy cottage. We were only there for work so didn't venture out on any walks or do tourist things. But cottage was very clean and a nice layout. There was a welcome basket with cookies and wine when we got there. Free WiFi, lovely kitchen with all the mod cons. Nice seating area outside which gets the afternoon sun. Would definitely go back with my wife next time.

Negative: Think the sink in the bathroom could be a little bigger. Doesn't give you much room to wash your face or brush teeth as you're too close to the wall. But just a minor thing.

Summary: Would definitely go back.

Positive: A lovely little cottage, secluded in a quiet area with options to head out into more busy places. Worked perfectly with our working dog as it gave us space to fully switch off and enjoy the local scenery. Lovely local walks and a nice pub not far from the property. There was lots of information on how to use different equipment which came in handy such as the coffee machine! The host was lovely and came over to say hello, very welcoming feel to the place. A welcome basket including wine was gifted, a perfect way to settle into your holiday.

Negative: Would have been easier to have a hoover / mop to keep the floors fully cleaned with having a long haired dog

Summary: A lovely little cottage in a very peaceful quiet area, well equipped and perfect location for lots of walking

Positive: The cottage was is in a beautiful location, plenty of parking and overall a lovely place. We where very happy with the stay. Access to local facilities is great and it was only a short drive to shops and the beach down beautiful country roads.

Negative: The weather wasn't ideal as it did rain however it is the Lakes and rain comes with the package. We managed to walk on the beach and found a nice little pub to wash away the cold.

Summary: Beautiful Bull Shed in the lakes.
