Positive: A great location and handy to walk to Symonds Yat and take in the air and the pubs. Lots of walking trails, interesting old church and a few very good eateries. We walked across to The Potting Shed for breakfast which was plentiful, in a charming rustic setting with lots of interesting things to look at inside. There is also an interesting gallery on site with art and small wire sculptures, which is well worth a visit.
Summary: relaxing, easy to get to, spacious, lovely hosts, handy for touring the area.

Positive: Craig and Lynne were both friendly and welcoming. The Cider Loft was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. Craigs lemon drizzle cake was delicious and we enjoyed Lynnes craft work dotted around the cottage and gardens. Would book again

Positive: The property is located in an ideal position for access by public transport to local towns, including Ross on Wye, Monmouth, Gloucester and Hereford. A short drive away is the Forest of Dean with its various activities and sights, including peregrine falcons.
Negative: The proximity to, and the consequential noise from, the A40 which at that point is a 70 mph, four-lane highway.
Summary: Ideal for a long weekend.

Positive: Located a pleasant 25 minute walk from Symonds Yat river walks, this place is roomy and charming. Craig, our host, made us feel welcome and we had a great time during our five night stay in the Cider Loft. The enclosed back garden, which is accessed from double doors in the living room, was fantastic for the dog, who was happy to pop in and out as he liked. Because we found this property on booking.com, we hadn’t realised that it’s part of Norton House B&B, which is a stunning Grade 2 listed building, including rooms in the house and a gallery containing arts and craft available for sale. The Cider Loft itself is very private however, so you can chill away from the holiday crowd when you need to. Overall, this is a wonderful place to stay in very beautiful Whitchurch, with a brook babbling through the gardens and roomy off-road parking. There’s even an Instavolt EV fast charger about 2 minutes drive away, which makes for an easy holiday in your EV.
Negative: The bedroom was not well soundproofed from the people staying below and I was woken by the most impressive snoring I’ve ever heard at 3am one night! This wasn’t generally a major problem, but be aware if you are a light sleeper. Although the kitchen has everything you’ll need, it could do with some attention; for example, the filter coffee machine without its jug is useless and the cupboards needed a clean. The electric shower is fine, but it wasn’t very powerful and was very cramped - I was glad to soak in a bath when I got home. Similarly, a shelf or wall cupboard in the bathroom would be welcome, the cracked shaver socket is not safe and the plug chain was broken - fixing these things would remove the feeling that things aren’t as well maintained as they could be.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay at The Cider Loft. A warm welcome from Craig who came to the rescue with dog bowls for us as we realised we had forgotten ours on arrival. The lemon drizzle cake was delicious, too. Recommendations have been given to our friends already, especially those with dogs as the beautiful Wye Valley is perfect for walks. It's a great property, very quirky and nice and cool during the hot weather. Overall, it was a fantastic stay. Would recommend with dogs or not.

Negative: Expensive for no tv such as sky/smart especially as we came for Xmas No hair dryer as advertised No hot water for bath No cleaning products so we could wash the counter tops Lots of steps that I don’t recall seeing when booking so not for the disabled
