Kingsbay Waterside Cottage is located at 5818 Pinewood Court, Marion, MD 21838. It is across the creek and it is not part of the Mansion. This private waterfront cottage can sleep four adults and has gorgeous views of the Chesapeake Bay Creek. Newly renovated, this loft space has a great room with a full gourmet kitchen and new stainless steel appliances. The vaulted ceiling glows with blue LED lighting that shines from ice blue ceiling beams that extend into the bedroom. The bright white walls shine and reflect carefully chosen lighting and furniture. Sheik architectural tiles reveal a fully glass enclosed shower and vanity. The great room sofa host a very comfortable queen bed, as well as, a pull out sofa bed in the open floor plan.

This gated, elegant Georgian waterfront estate is one of a kind. Located on Maryland's Eastern Shore, Kingsbay is peninsula on Coulbourn Creek at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay just north of Crisfield Maryland. It is the largest private home in Somerset County and was designed by Ian McCallum, the architect for Colonial Williamsburg. Built in 1970 on 7 acres and in middle of 500 acres of prime Maryland farmland, this estate offers 11 bedrooms, 10 full baths and 2 half baths. Starting In 2015, Kingsbay Mansion has been transformed into a breathtaking Executive B&B and Private Event Center. Five of its spectacular suites with private baths are being offered as part of the Kingsbay Mansion B&B. The entire estate is available for private functions, corporate events and destination weddings.
There is approximately 2000 feet of shoreline with dock for boating and kayaking. Kingsbay has 13K square feet of living space and boasts a three-story rotunda with a domed skylight and Belgian crystal chandelier. The music hall offers vaulted ceilings, another stunning chandelier, grand piano and large theater organ. The formal living room is designed with a doublewide fireplace and an impressive beamed, crown molded ceiling. The formal dining room has a Chinese Chippendale theme with built-mirrored china cupboards, fireplace and chandelier. Other rooms include the family dining room, breakfast room, lounge bar, rear foyer bar, wood paneled library and more. There are two fully stocked bars and the in-ground Grecian swimming pool with slate deck and fountain with magnificent views of the waterfront and the manicured Japanese gardens. Kingsbay Mansion, Bayhouse, Waterside Retreat Compound, Cottage and the Dockside House, vacation rentals properties are available to rent for any occasion to accommodate up to 44 guests.

Summary: Beautiful, quiet place. Very clean. Perfect for a couple. Since so many places at this price point provide toiletries, I for once did not bring mine and had to run out for soap. Dish soap was a bit scarce as well. Also, bring pool towels. We just had a couple towels available for bathing and pool use. As for the pool, it it located directly behind the other property; therefore, if the larger house is rented at the same time (might want to check if you desire a lot of privacy), that could be a bit awkward, and I think we would have felt intrusive splashing around right outside of the other property (with lots of windows). Nice views, though.

Summary: This property beautiful. On the water with beautiful views. We were generously allowed to use the dock to launch our kayaks. Gerald and David were very accommodating. The retreat itself is quite small but well appointed. We had a very nice stay!

Summary: Wonderful location! Nice and quiet. Sitting in the yard was a pleasure for both me and my dog. I saw a bald eagle, an osprey and many other birds. This was my second time and I am certain I will be back.

Summary: Gerald was fantastic! He met me at the property and showed me around the house for a few minutes. He made it easy to contact him if there were any problems. (There were absolutely no problems.) The place was a perfect quiet getaway for me and my dog. The area around the house is peaceful and tranquil. The mornings sitting in front of the water were a highlight. I saw osprey, bald eagles, blue herons and countless other birds. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil, pot, pan, etc. that could possibly be needed. Needless to say, I had a great time!

Summary: We had a relaxing time at the cottage. We were lucky in that the main house was not rented, so we had use of the entire property. The grounds are large enough and surrounded by water on 3 sides, so we very comfortable leaving our dogs (mostly) off the leash, being mindful of the neighbors and their properties. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the unit. The bathroom shower had quite a bit of grime and the glass shower doors were covered in soap scum. Also, the sliding door and windows had not been cleaned in some time, which made it not-quite-so picturesque to look out onto the water. Be aware that there is not much to do around, even in Crisfield, and even the decent take-out restaurants in the area (including Princess Anne and Pocomoke City) were not that impressive. Luckily, the kitchen in the cottage is pretty well-stocked with pots and pans and utensils. If we could guarantee the amount of privacy we had during our trip by not having the main house occupied (it is also a rental), we would return for a short trip. Gerry was very communicative and helpful throughout.

Summary: The owners of the property are very warm and welcoming. We booked the stay for 3 nights and found it small and overpriced for a family of three and a dog. The water supply of the property was very disappointing as it smelt and lacked hot water in the shower. We reported this to the owners who immediately resolved it. The mattress in the main bedroom were old and with loose springs that caused back ache.
