Summary: Our second stay with Ruth and Ian, a lovely friendly couple who go all out to provide a comfortable visit. Great breakfast choice, cosy beds, light airy rooms with windows that open !! ( rare in some places ) fresh milk and plenty refreshments. If ever in the area again we would definitely stay with them.

Summary: The room was spotless and you could tell a lot of thought had been put into it from the lovely selection of toiletries to the extras provided like ear plugs and make up remover towels. The breakfasts were lovely and the hosts were very friendly enquiring about our day and future plans. All in all a lovely stay

Summary: A very welcoming and very comfortable place to stay, I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night break. The location is excellent, the breakfast was outstanding and the area itself is lovely. A special thanks to Ruth and Ian for giving me the info on local cycling routes.

Summary: Ian and Ruth were very attentive hosts and nothing was too much trouble. They assisted greatly with parking and other local knowledge. Comfortable beds and pillows and big soft towels. A lovely fresh breakfast every morning ~ very professional looking poached eggs :-) Would we go back? Yes without hesitation :-)

The guest house itself is beautifully maintained. My room was spotless and tastefully decorated, with a comfy bed that guaranteed a good night's sleep. Breakfast was another highlight - a delicious way to start the day. The location of the Cowrie Guest House is perfect for exploring Berwick. It's within walking distance of all the main attractions, shops, and restaurants. But what truly sets this place apart is the genuine care and attention to detail from Ian and Ruth. They've created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like you're staying with friends, not just in a guest house. Overall, I can't recommend the Cowrie Guest House highly enough. Summary: Don’t be put off by first impressions of the town! Lovely attentive host who was happy to advise on best places to visit. It was a Good room but a little small. Good breakfast cooked to order and good quality ingredients. Certainly worthy of another stay.
