Positive: The location is handy for people who travel by train as the station is over the road. We travelled by car and there is plenty of places to park. It is by the canal which is lovely to sit out by and have a coffee or beer. The staff are all very friendly. Prices are a little steep but rooms are lovely and the bed was very comfy. All was very clean.
Negative: I couldn't park in the court yard near my room as I have before, which was a little bit inconvenient as I hold a disabled badge. They only have 1 disabled parking spot I think. This was used, so we had to park near the room to get our bags out and then park in the pub car park as there weren't any spaces nearer. The breakfast wasn't included with the room and the rooms are a liitle more than most rooms locally which do include breakfast.
Summary: A lovely, friendly stay in a great location, with comfy rooms despite a few parking inconveniences.

Positive: The staff were very very good. Even when they were extremely busy. The room was fine. It seems that’s ALL the rooms are not in the main building but approximately 20metre away, in what they call the Cottage. Our room was number 5 which overlooked the road. So expect some low level road noise. We had the roast dinner in restaurant which was most enjoyable and we also enjoyed the breakfast the following day. I would stay again.
Negative: The pub does get very busy on sunny days because of the location on the canal. So car parking may be a problem. We had to hover till a space became free. Including the public car park next door.
Summary: Good location for a canal side stay with good rooms, good service and food.
