Positive: The room was attractive & well equipped. We had 2 dinners in house & the food was very good.
Negative: Service lacked charm. Check-in felt like an inconvenience & customer-facing staff seemed young & inexperienced. There was no one around that we could identify as management. I appreciate that the Christmas period is a busy time of year in hospitality but when you pay a festive period premium you expect the service to match. Breakfasts were OK but breakfast buffet table lacked the products listed on the menu & our hot breakfast was fogotten one day (other guests had come & gone in the meantime). My Booking.com confirmation stated that I had booked a room with a terrace & an extra large double bed (181 -210 cm wide). We didn't get a terrace (not a big deal in winter & we don't smoke) but the bed in room 10 was only 160cm wide. I didn't notice until after we'd unpacked (I was travelling with a tape measure for other reasons). With the poor greeting on arrival I didn't have the will to walk back to main building to address this point. Meeting expectations on bed size is important! Other minor niggles but these were main points. At no point did anyone ask if we'd had a good stay/or ask for feedback
