Great location in the heart of all the action. South Piha is the popular beach at Piha. Keen surfer? Check the swell from the deck, for an instant surfing opportunity. Walk across the road directly onto the black iron sands.
This Bach is one of the original old holiday homes. Expect a classic 50s wooden bach with a killer location - not a fancy 5 star hotel! The activities in Piha are all outdoors or conducted sitting out on the deck anyway.
There are 2 bedrooms, bathroom, lounge, kitchen upstairs, two bedrooms and bathroom downstairs (great for teenagers, or extended family / friends) and a bunkhouse out the back. There is a BBQ available and deckchairs for soaking up the sun and views.

Summary: Choice stay. Surf was pumping right out front. Kids thoroughly enjoyed their time here. Weather didn’t quite corporate. Next time :)) There is a damp/stale smell when first entering, so it needs to be kept opened up at all times.

Summary: The location of this property is amazing, couldn’t be closer to the beach. Perfect view of Lion rock. Property is shabby and could do with a better clean. Would be great for groups with kids, you don’t have to worry about living in the place like it’s your own. Easy, laid back communication with host. A great, wild introduction to NZ for our UK family. Thanks

Summary: We booked this because it is a bona fide original / traditional Kiwi bach - a dying icon. As such fastidious levels of cleanliness and amenity are not anticipated. Generally pretty good but at the price per night, it would have been nice for the gas hob and refrigerator to work properly - two rings on the hob were defective and water accumulated in the bottom of the fridge. Also, the hand basin in the bathroom became blocked. At a lower price I'd not bother to mention these items - but. The location and overall vibe of the place is second to none, and the outdoor decks and sunporch are all outstanding. Overall thank you for a great three days.

Summary: Wow, what a cool place, such an awesome bach and the location is amazing. We loved the front deck with the large lawn overlooking the beach and then when you walk inside, it is pretty neat. Old style but with everything you need and more! The sleepout is a cool place for kids, and then ground level (separate entrance to the main house) is another great place, but single beds in separate rooms and with bathroom/toilet facilities. Anyway, we loved our stay and was so great to bring our dog along too. Jo was awesome to deal with and would definitely stay again :)
