If you ski, you will be hard pressed to find a better location to access a variety of ski resorts. We are 10 minutes to the world class Stratton Ski Resort, 10 minutes to Bromley, 15 minutes to Magic, 30 minutes to Mt. Snow, 35 minutes to Okemo, and 60 minutes to Killington.
The town of Manchester is known for shopping and lots of great local cuisine. Whether you want to shop at high end boutiques, need a drug store, grab lunch, or need to snag some groceries, it's all 20 minutes from the lodge.
There are plenty of things to do in the spring and summer as well, such as golf (4 courses nearby), fishing (3 state parks that have excellent lakes and fishing), farmers markets, wineries, multiple local dairy farms to tour, several summer outdoor theaters and symphonies, and hiking.
Vermont is famous for many things. Skiing, cheese, syrup.....but splendor of fall rivals them all!!! No trip to Vermont is complete without experiencing the magic behind that maple syrup; the trees and those leaves! Your access to the renowned Route 100 starts just 6 minutes from the lodge, and it is a fall showcase not to be missed. Stratton Mountain Resort will let you ride the gondola to see the mountain view of fall colors! Towns like Londonderry, Jamaica, Dover, and Weston (The Vermont Country Store in Weston is a must) have beautiful fall colors, are quaint, with all kinds of little charming stores with cheese, wine, fudge, creamees, cider doughnuts; and spots all along the way to stop and enjoy the charm. Just make sure you allow a full day (or two) to soak it all in! You can venture from Wilmington clear up to Stowe on Rt 100 and will delight in the gorgeous leaves and the charming Vermont towns and scenery.

Summary: Our group wanted to get away from the city for the weekend and Anthony was kind of enough to let us use his place for one night - we loved it. Tons of space, incredible professional kitchen and massive greatroom... a great spot to sit around the inside or outside fire and talk the night away... will be returning maybe in the winter for some skiing!

Summary: We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well stocked and the home is comfortable…perfect for a family and large groups. Felt like our home away from home. Very grateful they allowed dogs as not many VRBO do. The house was clean. Our recommendations would be new mattress and pillows for the master as those were worn out. Also, less fabric softener used on the towels… the towels smelled & felt like chemical fragrance. Would definitely stay again!

Summary: We had a great visit with our family. The upstairs bedroom s were hot the large bedroom on the main floor was great. The basement bedrooms are in a basement. They need paint and carpet cleaning. We cooked in the kitchen best we could. The knobs fell off cabinets and the stove was broken for half our stay. The owner also had to replace the toaster while we were there. The way they handle garbage by piling it in the garage is gross. They need some bear proof cans with cages that are throughout the mountains. The deck needs to be replaced and the hot tub was broken. We really needed and expected the hot tub. There was good parking and there was plenty of firewood. The interior lighting Could be better. The TVs were good especially in the basement. The location is great. The view is lovely. The house needs some sprucing up to say the least. Most of the family expressed we should get a partial refund do to all the issues the owner is aware of. That certainly was not offered.

Summary: This house was a great gathering place for the nine of us with lots of living room, kitchen space, bedrooms and baths. We enjoyed the great views from inside and out and easy access to roadways and hiking. The property is still grand, but there's lots of deferred maintenance ; the pillows and bedspreads should probably be replaced. We were also disappointed there was no working hot tub, a feature we were all looking forward to. Might be worth asking about before you go --- it's been mentioned in a few other reviews. Owner was very attentive and easy to reach. We really enjoyed the four nights we were there in beautiful fall season. We would return for sure.
