The Flyway Lodge is conveniently located on Wisconsin's Great River Road National Scenic Byway with views of the bluffs out the front windows and the Mississippi River out the back. The Fountain City public boat landing, public park, ice cream/coffee shop and a bike shop are all within walking distance. There’s direct access to the Flyway bike trail and snowmobile trail. The Lodge is 1500 sq ft and features a large living, dining and bedroom area with vaulted ceilings, a king size log bed, two sets of twin log bunk beds (built strong enough for adults), a log dining room table with 4 chairs and a bench, brown leather reclining couch, loveseat and rocker recliner and a 55” Smart TV. There’s a brand new spacious bathroom with a tub/shower, vanity and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a commercial stainless kitchen sink/prep area, refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans and utensils.
The Lodge has 9 dedicated parking spaces with additional space to park boat trailers, snowmobile trailers, racing trailers and campers. There’s a covered front porch area with a large yard, fire pit, charcoal grill and grilling utensils.
The town offers pleasant vistas of the Mississippi River from its characteristic terraced gardens. Nearby, 550-foot Eagle Bluff is the highest point on the Upper Mississippi. Seven Hawks Vineyard perches on the hillside outside of town while their Tasting Room is nestled in a historic downtown building. The Prairie Moon Museum & Sculpture Garden, a fanciful folk art attraction, is located just north of Fountain City. Winona, MN is located 10 minutes south of the Lodge.

Summary: My friends and I all decided to take a trip to the Winona area, and found this awesome lodge right across the river in Fountain City! The views are amazing, and Winona is only minutes away. The lodge was very clean and surprisingly spacious and well equipped. We didn't get a chance to use the side yard, but plenty of outdoor amenities including a firepit, grill, patio furniture, a baggo set and some other lawn games. We would book this unit again in a heartbeat. Niki was great with her communication!

Summary: Really comfortable beds. Cozy space with everything we needed. Enjoyed playing bags and having a fire with the wood provided. Nice little coffee place down the street with delicious brews and yummy breakfasf sandwich. Train was surprisingly not a bother at night. Fan easily blocked it out. Good location overall. Easy drive to Winona and lots of nature to explore

Summary: My husband and dogs needed a place to stay while I cared for my sick dad in the hospital. My husband fell in love with the location and the lodge. The lodge was perfect for my husband to work remotely all day and he enjoyed visiting with the locals and visiting the rock in the house. He can’t wait to come back!

Summary: We wanted to get away for the weekend but are not a backwoods or roughing it type of family. The cabin felt pretty private without being isolated. Short drive to many food options in town or in nearby Winona, and a cute coffee/ice cream/bike shop about a block’s walk down the street. Space enough to not be on top of each other but definitely feel together. Our dog loved everyone being in one room for her supervision. Both kids got a top bunk! Our evenings were rainy so we didn’t do a fire, but all the necessities were included for that, and outdoor games, too. It’s a good area for cyclists. I would especially recommend this spot for families with young kids. One big room, so they are always in sight, and you could close off kitchen and bathroom doors to trouble-proof. Basic kitchen to accommodate your picky eater with bright toddler dishes included. Playground right next door. If you are interested in train and/or fire truck watching, they are free entertainment! Hosts were responsive and thoughtful. Overall just what we were needing!

Summary: We loved our stay at the Flyway Lodge. Clean, spacious lodge with just what we needed and nothing more. Plenty of area indoor and outside for our 7year old son and 7month old puppy to run and play. Spacious kitchen area with washer and dryer, spacious clean bathroom , plenty of comfortable beds with clean linens. Comfy couches for lounging and watching a movie on the smart T.V on a hot summer night. Free WiFi with excellent phone service. We enjoyed the front porch and bags set. Trains were not an issue for us as we live in a small town near train tracks and are used to the noise. Just off the highway and near a busy boating area but we were ok with that as well as we spent the majority of our time enjoying the area Parks and attractions.
