The space
This farmhouse was originally built in 1900 but has been completely renovated and updated! It is uniquely located in the heart of Mount Vernon close to all businesses, yet sits on 2 acres and borders farmland giving it a country feel. Located on a dead end road you can expect a quiet and peaceful stay.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to any space on the first and second floors of the home. Guests may also use the outdoor fire pit, porch, patio, and two acres of yardspace. The basement is the only area not accessible to guests at this time.
Other things to note
*Two 10x10 pop-up canopies and yard games (corn hole, outdoor Yahtzee, large Jenga, & Bocce Ball) can be provided for guests if requested. Please ask us about these if you are interested!
*An elementary school is located one block from the home. Guests should be aware that on school days there is more traffic during pick-up and drop-off times. But the playground is also just a short walk away to use during the evening and on weekends!

Summary: This is a gorgeous property, perfectly maintained and super welcoming. My daughter and I arrived late and left early, so we didn't have time to spend much time, but would definitely rent again if we were in the area. I would suggest, however, that you request for some lights to be left on if you are arriving after dark. If you come from a city, it may be a little unnerving to arrive in the pitch black. Likewise, lighting up the parking space is important... For the absolutely lovely and kind owners, I’d also suggest changing out the bulbs to softer yellow rather than the daylight blue lighting. Their home is perfect and the “daylight” bulbs don’t do it justice. Thanks for having us!

Summary: Very clean and appears newly remodeled. Large open dining and living room format which was perfect our visit with extended family. Very functionable kitchen with all of the cookware, place settings and silverware that we needed. Rooms are good sized with nice dressers and closets in each room. Large sink in bathroom and has separate shower and bathtub.

Summary: The house was very clean. It was easy to find and checkin to. They had a book of rules, food suggestions, and activities in the area. Perfect for our stay the night before our wedding!

Summary: We were in town for a family reunion. This house was perfect for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Nice flat yard, fire pit and baby swing. House was nicely decorated and clean. Our only issue was that the internet was out and the company couldn’t come to fix it until Sunday when we were leaving, but the owner communicated this with us and it was not a huge deal.

Summary: This charming home is well cared for. It was very clean and had lots of space. We had little ones with us, the outside games they had provided were very much appreciated. The beds were comfortable. We loved staying there!

Summary: We had a great stay at Forgotten Acres. It's even better than it appears in the pictures! Would definitely stay again. We felt very much at home. (Be aware that the staircase to the second floor is rather steep. It was not at all a problem for us, but it is worth knowing if anyone in your party has mobility issues.)
