The Harlow House Gateway to the Gorge is a beautiful new construction home with hillside views, walkable to historic downtown Troutdale (2 blocks), easy access to McMenamins Edgefield (1 mile), downtown Portland (15-20 mins), Portland International Airport (15 mins), or the Columbia River Gorge.
This charming new custom craftsman home is two levels. The main living space and bedrooms are located on the second floor with lots of natural light and hillside views.
While staying in our home, you are in a quiet neighborhood that is a close walk to the historic downtown Troutdale. Here you will find a variety of local restaurants, including Sugarpine Drive In, coffee shops, Troutdale Food Carts, antique stores and the Columbia Gorge Outlet Mall.
Guests have access to the entire house minus the garage and an attached downstairs studio apartment where a permanent tenant stays mid-week and has a separate entrance and living quarters.

Summary: Harlow House was immaculate, peaceful, relaxing and yet in a prime location for visiting the Gorge. The living area is upstairs and above the houses around it, giving you an open feeling with a view! We enjoyed the proximity to the hiking and waterfalls, as well as being close to family who live in the area. If you like a home base, Harlow House can definitely be a hub to venture to the wineries or downtown Portland. Troutdale is a cute little town and easily walkable from the house. The house has a lot of extras like stairway lighting, beautiful shower/tub, loads of closet space. quality washer/dryer and quality appliances. The fireplace is lovely and the couches comfortable.The kitchen has all you need for your trip. Check in and out were easy. Communication with Becky was prompt and easy.We would definitely stay here again and wish we could go back sooner than is possible!

Summary: This house in Troutdale was perfect for us as a family. Staying in a place that was located so close to the freeway made it easy to get around. The whole house was very clean and tastefully decorated with a lovely balcony to relax on. Lots of windows made it bright and cheerful too. Our host, Becky, was very helpful and easy to get in touch with.

Summary: For older folks like us, certain things have become more important, such as comfortable seating - which these reclining sofas had the same as home. We've been to places that were there for looks only and were terribly uncomfortable. We also appreciated the owner's helpfulness and accessibility throughout the stay, answering questions and offering suggestions - like asking the waterfall tour folks to pick us up rather than drive to downtown Portland. The amenities like the fireplace and everything being new should also exceed expectations of any visitor.

Summary: Excellent place to stay. Everything is fresh & clean and so convenient to Troutdale & Columbia Gorge. Manager is very friendly & everything is as described. Love the large washing machine & enjoyed the fire place and comfortable living room - the recliners are awesome. Really appreciated the extra amenities. Highly recommend!
