Negative: VERY run down (rotten floorboards, warped floors). Poor location, lots of late night activities outside (I’m not going to say they were ALL drug dealers and hookers, but there were at least a few)

Positive: The place was great. The only downside is that there is no parking for this specific place and that is definitely a negative. Other than that, the facility was beautiful, comfortable, and very nice.

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay! The place has a more old-fashioned vibe, so if you’re expecting something grand, it might not meet your expectations. However, it was exactly what we needed, and we liked it a lot. The host was amazing—very kind, helpful, and always quick to respond. He really went out of his way to assist us. Would definitely recommend!

Positive: The air conditioning was nice and having a tiny kitchen with a full size fridge was a bonus. The courtyard also made me feel very safe and I wasn't bothered smoking late at night in there.
Negative: A tad difficult to get in touch with someone on the property when we first arrived. Our room code did not work on our door only the front entrance. I called the number provided in the email and it seemed the person who answered was not on the property, we ended up waiting about 5 minutes or so for the housekeeper to arrive and she let us into our room. She did not give us a code that worked or contact us again to let us know our code was reset so we ended up just using the code we saw her use on the door. Kind of inconvenient but we managed to figure it out.
Summary: Won't stay here again but enjoyable nonetheless

Positive: I live in Capitol Hill; just about 7 minutes away from The Holiday Chalet Hotel. When I was “in between” places I would stay here quite regularly . From the very first moment I walked in this place, It felt like home. The staff is amazing. The place is always clean and comfortable. When reading the other reviews of this establishment, a common thing I see is that people seem to find the address to be a bit unsavory (Colfax Ave). I find that it only adds to the charm of this fascinating place. The house has a very interesting and rich history; one which I encourage anyone who is reading this review to read about (I’ll include a link at the bottom). Colfax Avenue was quite a fashionable address when this house (originally, a single-family home) was built. This is NOT just a building or a structure. It is a living breathing thing with a rich, and beautiful history; this is something that can be felt as soon as you walk through the doors. My point is, I now have an apartment close by, but I still come here a couple of days out of the month just because I LOVE it here SO MUCH. For anyone who is planning a trip to Denver, be it for business or pleasure, I IMPLORE YOU to try The Holiday Chalet Hotel. Every room is unique and charming its own way, with every detail perfectly thought out. Located in the rich and diverse Cap Hill neighborhood and just a short walk from downtown Denver, The Holiday Chalet Hotel is perfectly situated if you ask me. You will NOT get More Bang for Your Buck ANYWHERE else nor will you get the charm and lack of pretense this place has to offer. FYI- The Chalet welcomes all well-behaved pets! My cat, Emily May, also loves this place.
