Summary: This an old building and old hotel. We stayed there for the nostalgia of it. The room was very small and still could not be cooled off below 80°, as there was only a small window air conditioner. The direction louvers on the AC was broken and we had to stuff a home made adapter to redirect the airflow through the rest of the room on an attempt to cool it. It never totally cooled off. There was no elevator, so bags had to be carried up stairs (we’re 78 years old) and the stress of that was terrible. There was no offer of help from the staff. The decks on either end of the building were in disrepair and maintenance is badly needed. The bathroom was literally in a closet. It was clean, but in a closet? The hotel was full, so a different room was not offered. There were larger rooms available with central cooling…we could not cool ours off. We figured since we did not book directly with them, but thru Hotels.com, we got the small hot room. There were only two restaurants in town and everything shut down during the time we were there. Finding food was dicey, but was good.

Summary: Keep in mind the hotel is well over 100 years old. It has been lovingly maintained though the upstairs porches are not safe , the wraparound veranda downstairs is excellent for relaxing. This is a great spot to stay while you visit the McDonald Observatory, Davis Mountain scenic route,Chihuahuan-desert botanical garden and Marfa,Tx. Most of all the staff are very helpful and kind..

Summary: The hotel room was clean. It was very nice. The bathroom was clean. The staff that we dealt with were very nice. What was not cool was that we chose to stay at this hotel because there was a steakhouse and a coffee house attached with the hotel and that's what sold us. However, both of those are closed. We got no notification about it and there was no discounted rate. Being that Fort Davis is a small town there are not a lot of places to go and for the steak dinner that we thought we were going to get we had to travel to Alpine. However, everything else was okay. Not a lot of food choices there.

Summary: Had to park on the street and walk across to an upstairs room. I don't do stairs. It was painful and humiliating. Staff would not offer any help. No food or water. No suggestions for where to find food. Worst experience in years.

Summary: Everything the Hotel Limpia brags about was closed and completely unavailable to us. They wouldn't even offer suggestions for us to find dinner. It was awful. The second day they called repeatedly,( nearly a dozen times i think) to tell me our stuff was left in our room. We rented it for 2 days. The constant interruptions were annoying. I am disabled and they gave us a room upstairs, across the street, no elevator. Horrible experience.

Summary: When I made my reservation, I was NOT told that I would be staying in a different building ACROSS THE STREET AND UP THE WOODEN STAIRS! I’m a 71 yr old woman traveling alone. The MAIN hotel lobby had ice water, cookies, a reading room and sunroom. However, I was across the street and upstairs (no elevator) with sciatic pain from the long drive. The young man, who stayed on his cell phone, opened the door, pointed across the street, and said, “Your room is over there.” I called the front desk, later, to ask about check out, as I would be leaving early the next morning. I asked if I could leave my key in the room. The same young man replied, “You just come back over here and drop your key in a lock box on the desk. This building is open all night.” When I awoke at 5am, it was very dark, and I didn’t feel safe walking into a building that had been open all night. I hid my key in the room, and called them later in the morning to tell them where it was.
