What could more appropriate than a “Joan of Arc” suite in the Arc de Texas building? The Arcs that have been built in history often commemorate famous military victories, and Joan was a superb warrior. Joan never married and so this suite is a one bedroom suite, albeit with 2 ornate queen beds with wrought iron scrolled headboards (OK, Joan was never a queen and she probably never slept in anything so fancy but that doesn't mean you have to scrimp on luxury). The suite is on the second floor of the Arc de Texas and has 1 bedrooms, 1 bath with a kitchenette, central air/heat and great fire pit to sit and enjoy the nighttime sky in the Hill Country. You can also use the elevator to go to the rooftop terrace to enjoy your cocktail while taking in the arresting 360 degree views. You only need to pack your overnight bag, we have thought of everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. The suite sleeps 4-5 people with the use of the leather sofa in the living room. The bedroom has a two queen beds (all linens provided).
The kitchenette is furnished with coffeemaker (coffee, filters, creamer, sugar, Splenda), pots, pans, 2 burner glass cook top, under counter refrigerator, microwave, glassware, dishes, silverware, linens, serving bowls, cooking utensils, misc. spices, knife block, toaster, paper towels, napkins, basic condiments in the fridge, and spices in the cabinet for cooking, etc.
The living area has a leather embossed furnishings. You can put your feet up and read a good book, watch DirectTV with movie channels, or head into town and rent a DVD to watch on the television. There is no telephone but there is an internet connection in the house if you really must stay in touch with those everyday hassles!
There is a large fire pit with 'rocking' chairs that you can sit in and enjoy a great fire. There's plenty of wood on the ranch - burn all you want! There is six tables with chairs up on the rooftop terrace that you can use to have a meal outside. In addition, we also have a propane grill for outdoor cooking.
If you wish to bring your dog or your horse we have accommodations for them as well. The back deck is fenced and can be used to contain your dog. We ask that you keep them off the furniture and beds and you are required to bring a crate to house them in when you are away from the suite ($30 per night per pet stay fee - to be added to your quote after you book). For horses, we have a pipe fenced paddock directly behind the Red House with water & feed troughs as well as a run-in and tack area to keep your tack and feed dry (please note that you will need to rent the Red House as well to bring horses).
Lighthouse Hill Ranch is situated in the beautiful Texas Hill Country on 2,001 acres. With this much land it is your own private park to enjoy (see pictures for a map of the property). The ranch consists of rolling hills, incredible 50 mile views, and has one of the highest point in Blanco County. Enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the ranch from cattle, bird watching, deer, turkey, coyotes, armadillos, jackrabbits, doves and variety of other animals.
Rental of any of our houses or suites provides you access to the entire ranch (both tracts), which has numerous springs, over 4,000 feet of clear rock-bottom creek to swim and tube in (and including a unique creekside hot tub and waterfall grotto), 8 ponds to fish, a seasonal waterfall and miles of trails for riding your own ATV and bikes, hiking or riding your own horse.

Summary: My wife and I had a fantastic three night stay in this picturesque four-room Inn. Sunrise and sunsets from either the rooftop deck, or ground level terraces were equally amazing. The ranch is centrally located for easy day trips to Fredericksburg, Wimberley, and other quaint Hill Country towns. Johnson City is only 5 minutes up the road, where we enjoyed great meals at both Pecan Street Brewing and Bryan’s on 290. The ownership team provided timely updates and access information was all seamless through keyless gate and door codes. We enjoyed wine from the on-site tasting room, where the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The pool and spa were well maintained, and were essentially private facilities, only serving a few ranch guests. The in-room amenities, including kitchen supplies were just right, with all the conveniences and comforts of home. We will definitely be back!

Summary: The ranch is definitely a great place to stay. We stayed in the Joan of Arc suite in the Arc de TEXAS. Very nice... but it can be noisy. Our 2nd of three nights we had not much sleep because of the noise... otherwise, a great stay. If we are able to visit again, we’ll stay in one of the houses on the property. We enjoyed touring the property in our Jeep. The ranch is centrally located making it easy to enjoy the hill country.
