Positive: The food was excellent as was the ales and wines, large beer garden on a beautiful day was a bonus.

Negative: A small point for anyone staying there who may think of eating lunch on arrival before 1430 check in, we arrived at 1420 thinking we have lunch before check in but the kitchen was closed. We asked if there was any chance of a sandwich but if we wanted we could drive 5 miles to Wincanton to get some lunch. I would have stopped on my way had I known.

Positive: My partner and I had a one-night stay at the King's Arms in Sherborne as a base to explore the local villages. The location is in a stunning part of Dorset with lovely views from the front and rear of the hotel. There is ample parking available just opposite the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and regularly checked to see if we needed anything during our stay. Room was very clean, modern, including a large modern bathroom with an amazing walk-in shower. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was among the best I have had from comparable hotels. I highly recommend a stay at the KIng's Arms if you are visiting the area.
