Positive: Superb location for our family event. Room was clean, bathroom was modern. Lift to all floors. Function rooms very good. Wonderful fairly priced breakfast. Event meals were exceptional. Bar has a good atmosphere. Free on site parking. Staff were more than helpful, friendly.
Negative: Lighting in room was horrible, no low intensity lighting, 2 options bright and even brighter. only 2 pillows provided. Toilet flush very difficult to operate. Not a fan of brown towels for a hotel. There was no kettle in room to make tea/coffee, instead ring 0 for a hot drink, this was ok until you wanted a drink late at night or during the staffs busy times, phone would ring, ring and ring. Also meant you had to be appropriately dressed to answer the door. VERY ANNOYING for those of us that bring extra tea bags and milk because we drink a lot of hot drinks. Room swipe keys frequently lost their coding.

Negative: No kettle in room. The staff were very nice about making a complimentary cup of tea, but it would have been more comfortable to have a kettle in the room and not have to bother the front desk.

Positive: We were there for a meal upstairs after a christening. The food was fantastic and later on we went to the bar which was great.
Negative: The room seemed very basic. There was a man painting outside the room where our meal was. It seemed strange thing to be doing on a busy Saturday as anyone could have got paint on them and the smell was really strong.
Summary: We found the food top notch and the staff really friendly.
